DALeast π¨π³ Wuhan, China β’ Street Art β’ Based in Cape Town, by Mattmoo08 on Jan 17, 2013 20:36:42 GMT 1, I dont think this is the best place to sell this piece mate. Your best sticking it on ebay. The people on this site wont pay that much so soon after release. Its a bit insulting to come here and ask for that price to be honest. Alot of people on here are true collectors and this is clearly being flipped. Its like buying a bag of rice for 10p and selling it to someone starving in Africa for Β£100
Agreed mate sorry to say.
This is where I normally say good luck with the sale but in this case I don't think you stand a chance sorry

I won't belabor the point but please tell me you see the irony of comparing decorative art being sold on the secondary market for upscale homes, to starving people being gouged to death for a basic need in a third world country... sounds a little entitled to me mate!

I too will give a +1 to someone putting a nail in the head of nealmason1986 Though it may evidently require some kind of large air powered hammer to do so.

Please kindly click on the Art For Sale page...MOST EVERYTHING is moving hands!!!...even the most precious of all...BANKSY!! listings at $9K, $5K and everywhere in between.. who gives a rats dick about how long its been in circulation. you've all missed drops. it hurts. but this view of taking it personally is just absurd. i missed BOTH Dal drops....sucked but i paid for em anyway. if there are people who want to buy it, they will. i would love a banksy. am i ever going to pay $10K for one? absolutely not. maybe i'll get one someday in a trade of sorts but until then....a great artist like Daleast has had 2 prints. they are both stunning. if they're gonna be walled at your place, you bet your ass they're worth $1,600. my $.03, at least. good luck with the sale, wompa...HERE or wherever the hell you wanna sell it!

DALeast π¨π³ Wuhan, China β’ Street Art β’ Based in Cape Town, by nealmason1986 on Jan 17, 2013 23:36:32 GMT 1, I wish the seller all the luck! I really do!
I am not on a witch hunt just trying to explain that this is a urban art forum for lovers and collectors of art and I just don't think it's appropriate to take advantage of unlucky people to miss the drops by rinsing them of 1.6k for a print which a talented artist made 150 on if that after street art fees and printing etc.
It's taking advantage of someone's love for the art!
I have missed both dal print and had to buy the assassin 2nd hand. I would rather dal got the profit made when I bought my assassin! But 1000% inflation in a month is a joke!
But if someone pays it then fair enough! But In my opinion this type of profiteering should be kept to eBay as to not enfuriate unfortunate people with slow broadband which misses street arts drop every time!

There was a HUGE backstory to that comment towards Payneypotaplant. Trust myself and MANY others that its true. And I never b**ched about the price. Just the dealings.

Your use of 'myself' isn't correct. You have to be the object and subject of the sentence to use it. See below....
grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/myself-grammar.aspx
I wouldn't normally be so pedantic, but your reaction to the 'walled' thing was like that of an 8 year old, so I thought I should help. PM if you need to, it demonstrates finer manners than shouting on the Internet...

I'm so sorry to offend you. Please forgive my shortcomings. I long to be respected by you. It keeps me up at night. Hopefully one day, I graduate to that of a nine year old brain. At least I'm not using acronyms that takes a modern dictionary to crack like most other forum members. Until then, I hope you find this message heart warming because it was written with the utmost insincerity. And walled is a term that I find fitting when describing the act of taking a piece of art and putting it on ones wall. It's easy and makes a bit of sense. Again, no disrespect meant.

No he / she isn't. I find this blatant flipping of prints for a piss take margin via a board which used to be a collectors resource pretty nauseating.

I HATE buying on the secondary market but unfortunately, it comes down to supply and demand. its still no easy pill to swallow, no matter how you look at it. sucks big donkey balls but the art collecting world is a close relative of ticket brokering. i miss all the time and refuse to miss a Phish show so i have to pay up. sucks, but life does that sometimes.

thats crazy. wish the same sort of thing would happen here but the business is just entirely too big with many large companies and players involved. best advice, befriend a broker. at the end of the day, this is some peoples livelihood or a way to pay for things...school, rent, food, etc. its not going anywhere so we may as well accept it attempt to not take it personally. i know it hurts...i (WE) have all felt it entirely too many times but its set in stone now. cheers for the conversation though.

DALeast π¨π³ Wuhan, China β’ Street Art β’ Based in Cape Town, by blobbydon on Jan 19, 2013 8:08:02 GMT 1, Funny how only certain threads get hijacked with people moaning about flipping.. People seem to moan about it all the time but not on all of them..why?? People where flipping Dolks punk and pope before they had even got them but no one was saying anything about that, and they had nearly doubled in price... At the end of the day if you don't like his price then just move along.. It's his and if it don't sell then the price will come down.. Maybe not to your tastes but what ever you say ain't going to change it.. It's seems this is how it works on this forums sales threads... People only moan at certain people flipping where others do it and no one says a words

And if he/she comes on a public art forum, which some people still remember as a place where people do other people favours (like RottenRedRooster selling something that didn't take his fancy at cost (and discount to market by a country mile), secret santa etc), to flip something then you can expect to attract a certain degree of criticism?
There is a well known auction site where you can sell things but you have to pay a commission, to ask for an aspirational price and not even offer the forum based buyer the benefit of that commission in cash terms is greed in possibly its most obscene form. imo.
