Expecting a buyer to be okay with the fact you will refund them if you miss your goal piece is pretty hopefull!
Once you agree a sale and the funds hit your account in my mind that piece is no longer yours.
Lining up buyers in case you are successful is a much smarter move, although adds risk they won't follow through of course. if I was you I'd just sell the artwork. Hope you win and if not you've got a nice swollen art funds account. And no one gets messed about.

If I make the goal there should be no reason I don't win the auction with those kind of funds to back it up. If for some crazy reason I didn't though, yeah it would suck to not only lose the auction but have to part with two of my favorite pieces.
No one will get messed about though, I'm transparent as they come with communication. I may not be active here but I've been a member since 2010 at EB, just not as active anymore since trolls have taken over.

A lot of people wouldn't have bothered stating their objectives and would've just refunded if in your case, they never won the auction and just said they changed their mind and wanted to keep the pieces.
Up to the buyer if they're happy to buy like this, their eyes are wide open:)

Either way I own both of these prints and would equally struggle to let them go, must be some piece you're going to auction for. Glws or glwa even.

Yeah I think we're referring to the same one. Item id 332184338852. Not sure why it was relisted. I was third highest bidder, ended up getting one from a forum member instead.
