How do you store your art?, by kbfrombk on Nov 9, 2013 19:19:50 GMT 1, It gets tough once you increase in size... for the 'normal' sized stuff, this is a great bet:
www.dickblick.com/items/15019-9024/
And then for bigger stuff, I like the cardboard under a bed or behind a dresser, taped to make a sort of pita and keep dust, etc., away... and definitely separate art with craft paper or other acid-free options!
Of course make sure the rigidity is solid with the cardboard - don't want any bends or folds! Double-up on it one each side, if need be.
And then there's also this, if it fits your needs/wallet/art:
www.ebay.com/itm/10-DRAWER-FLAT-FILE-ENGINEERING-DRAWING-BLUE-PRINT-LARGE-STORAGE-CABINET-/291010778822?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43c19816c6

In an ideal world you'll have one print per insert in a folio with acid free card and acid free tissue paper.

I usually use a glass bowl and cover with a plate.
Thanks everyone.

How do you store your art?, by DameHoracia on Nov 9, 2013 20:45:45 GMT 1, Had one of those at work and got rid of it a few years ago, too big for the art room space. You'd have to have some place to fit that in.

How do you store your art?, by Happy Shopper on Nov 10, 2013 0:34:54 GMT 1, I have an A1 size portfolio with archive sleeves. Trouble is I keep buying too many prints so there's now 2 or 3 in each sleeve!! Really need to buy a second. I also keep larger prints between 2 thick card sheets (had a large print delived in them and now use them for a ton of stuff!)
If I had more space I could store them better, but it seems to work fine for now!
Beans, I can't help with. Don't like them!

How do you store your art?, by Deleted on Nov 10, 2013 15:43:41 GMT 1, How do folks store their prints? I have several that I won't be framing immediately but don't want to keep rolled in their tubes. Ideas and tips are appreciated, especially those that fit the budget conscious... I store my art on the wall... And some in the folio between acid free cardboard AFTER that the prints flattened out by themselves.

How do you store your art?, by curiousgeorge on Nov 10, 2013 15:45:15 GMT 1, I have a question. When people let their print unfold naturally. Do they just take it out of the tube and leave it? My tactic has always been get it out of the tube, flatten it and leave it between two pieces of cardboard.
Always left mine on top of the wardrobe for a week or 3/4 and let the paper do its own thing.Once it's relaxed then between mount board or straight into a archival sleeve.
I found moisture quickens the process greatly.I didn't spray it!!! the ex other half left bedroom and bathroom open while the shower was on..
