Early Banksy Art, by Deleted on Nov 26, 2019 1:09:12 GMT 1, Dalston... used to be a right shite hole... loved this piece and watching it degrade, gracefully. The car disappeared first.
Banksy used to to make the most of the abandoned cars in the area. Down the road, he turned another abandoned white one into a police car... of sorts.

My vote would be to delete any fake / photoshopped images.
They undermine the rest of the thread. And there will be members who won't realise the images were only included here as a joke.

Was this piece ever confirmed?
If not, on what basis is it being attributed to Banksy?
All I see is a basic stencil portrait of Mao, with no wit and no interest.

[...] Was this piece ever confirmed? If not, on what basis is it being attributed to Ban ksy? All I see is a basic stencil portrait of Mao, with no wit and no interest. Definitely Banksy, metI canโt remember the location (Regents Park?) but have a vague memory of the piece being topical to something or other. Maybe something connected to the snorkel and mask?
Met, from memory I'm fairly certain that photo is in one of the wall and piece editions. Regardless, I find it amusing to see the chairman snorkeling a shallow man made pigeon pond but perhaps just me.
Cheers, all.
Completely forgot this image had already been published by Banksy.
And, embarrassingly, when looking at the photo again with fresh eyes, I didn't even notice the key elements allowing the piece to make sense โ i.e. snorkel and diving mask.
__________
cosmic โ Minor aside, but I never actually delete my own posts (or remove any of their substance through the 'Edit' function). It's a matter of principle and a discipline I've always imposed on myself.
What this does is force me to step back and consider beforehand everything I write. The idea is to ensure that:
(i) reasonable efforts are made by me to verify the accuracy of factual statements put forward;
(ii) opinions expressed have been thought through and are capable of withstanding challenges or scrutiny;
(iii) comments made by me (especially critical ones) are hopefully rational, balanced and fair; and
(iv) the risk of being drawn into prolonged, heated and petty exchanges with other members is kept to a strict minimum.
