its weird as I was there in 2011 an it was there. Seemed like it had been there years. Im going back down on the 25th sonill ask how long exactly. Here's a little piece about it. Awesome thread. This piece is from the '10 Years with Banksy' book isn't it? Quite a good easy read if you haven't seen it.

From the article you link to, dated 2012:

"Now the well-known cider-house is set to become even more famous thanks to the fact that it now boasts its own 12-foot high original Banksy work of art."

It's a obvious publicity stunt.

Did this actually sell?

I remember that there was talk at the time of 5 street artworks attributed to Banksy being in the auction, but that none of them sold. So was this one of those 5 or was this a 6th which actually did sell?

No idea matey, i thought none of them sold from the sale so was surprised to see that one.

Just been searching that sale on google, at the time it was dire i remember, nothing sold, so they either changed the catalogue archive or something?, didnt one bloke from there get the boot over it?.
