Danny O'Connor π¬π§ DOC Street Artist β’ New Print Release, by Grafter on Apr 20, 2008 17:17:05 GMT 1, Really like the 1st two. Might look better if the black lines of the face were a little softer to make them less harsh, but that's just me being picky.
You might want to edit your post so that all 4 pictures fit onto the screen. Some people might think you have only posted 2 and not scroll along to the 3rd and 4th.

Danny O'Connor π¬π§ DOC Street Artist β’ New Print Release, by Danny O'Connor on Apr 20, 2008 21:30:34 GMT 1, Cheers Grafter, I've been planning on doing some slightly more subtle pieces without that sharp contrast between background and subject, but these are pretty large canvases so I wanted them to be very striking and in your face.
I'll be sure to post them on the forum as soon as I churn them out! I'll try and sort out the way I've put the pics on too. Thanks also to Oliver for the comment, I've been looking at your work on the forum, it's really good. Reminds me a little bit of some Jasper Goodall illustrations for Levis I saw a few years back.
More comments welcome please, you may well inspire me for future pieces. I'll try and get some new work posted asap!

Danny O'Connor π¬π§ DOC Street Artist β’ New Print Release, by Heavyconsumer on May 17, 2008 19:27:14 GMT 1, I quite like this painting. I'm no artist myself, but I think I'd prefer it wothout the type (RISE). I guess that's just a taste thing though. Well done for having the courage to post your work on a public forum. Good luck!
EDIT: Just had a look at your ebay store and there's some lovely work in there, but I feel that some of the prices are on the high side. How's it going? Do you sell pieces very frequently on ebay? Have you tried using the services of a gallery?

Hi, Thanks again for all the comments! I'm not currently represented by a gallery but do display in local restaurants and bistros etc.
Oliver, do you have any advice on approaching galleries?
And heavy consumer as for the text, I know what you mean about that, it's not my favourite bit of writing I've done. I generally like my text messy and "Punkish" but the placement and execution could have been better but this was a painting I was just having fun with so I just let the ideas flow.
I do OK off ebay and my larger paintings are around Β£200 - Β£300 which I think is decent for large originals. But if you're after a bargain I often list paintings with starting bids of Β£40-Β£50.
Apologies for my long winded reply. Thanks again for any feedback!!!

Danny O'Connor π¬π§ DOC Street Artist β’ New Print Release, by Heavyconsumer on May 19, 2008 8:16:41 GMT 1, Like I said, there's some very nice work in your ebay shop, so good luck! No offense intended on the pricing comment , it was just an honest initial reaction. I don't think Β£300 for a one off is a fortune at all, but it's tough to commit Β£300 (for me personally) on a piece I haven't seen in the flesh, by an artist I've not heard of. I'm certain a gallery would not sell the same pieces for less, but it's a different buying experience completely and satisfaction is guaranteed.

I agree you can't beat seeing something up close and personal.
But if anyone does wish to buy anything off me I have no problem offering refunds on any returns, for any reason. Thankfully the only return I've had so far is when someone misjudged the size of the artwork compared to their wall space.
No offense taken on the pricing comment either I understand your reasoning. I'll be sure to let the forum know when my work pops up in some galleries, so they can check it out in the flesh.

Danny O'Connor π¬π§ DOC Street Artist β’ New Print Release, by Heavyconsumer on May 19, 2008 17:23:40 GMT 1, You could even try adding your listings to the ebay section of the forum, plenty of members trawl through that board looking for bargains and selling pieces. I'm a bit poor at the moment and only really looking for a couple of very specific pieces and more likely to sell than buy. But as mentioned I wish you luck and I'm confident there is a market for your work. Keep it up and keep enjoying it.

Danny O'Connor π¬π§ DOC Street Artist β’ New Print Release, by Danny O'Connor on Jun 3, 2008 9:02:20 GMT 1, Cheers everyone! Glad they've got such a favourable reaction. It's also good that different people are saying they like different pieces, although Numinous is edging it at the moment from the early feedback. My personal favourite is Solidity (but that's probably cos it was the last one I've finished).
I'll hopefully be posting some new stuff as soon as I paint them so keep a look out for me.
Thanks again and keep the comments coming.

I plan on leaving these on the street for whoever stumbles across them to keep. ;D
