I tend to use a mixture of sweeping flowing and dynamic sharp lines. This one is quite heavy on the sharp lines so it is probably responsible for the more sculptured appearance.
I sometimes look to sculpture for inspiration actually. I also really like the sculptural type painting Picasso did and Tamara de Lempicka did some pretty smart stuff too (if a little camp)
As for the eye, the painting is made to flow up in that area but I guess that may be a bit distracting. I think a bit of shading to hint at the eyelid may help. Thanks for your input mate!

No plans to put this in a show at the moment but U never know.

So here's the deal, I've had one of my paintings (Ready & Waiting) Giclee printed to canvas and framed on a 20x20inch Chunky edge frame and I have one to give away to a forum member.
You may recognise the piece as Darren Rapley who owns the original uses it as his avatar on here.
The print is part of an editioned release of 15 signed and numbered by my good self.
Basically all you have to do is post your interest on this thread and you'll go in the hat for the give away.(not very imaginative I know but hey) 
I'll let this run till Monday morning to give everyone a chance then pick the winner!
UPDATE: DEADLINE FOR ENTERING IS 9am Monday 9th March
