DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by kunstrasen on Nov 26, 2013 11:36:27 GMT 1, ...really like the 'Graffiti Remover'. Definitely will try for one. However these Dolk prints seem to pop up more and more often.

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by Snakes on Nov 26, 2013 11:37:17 GMT 1, I used to love DOLK (and still love the old DOLK stuff prior to the majority of HMP stuff) but it seems that he has had the brainwash treatment and is going right down the toilet.

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by jayTown on Nov 26, 2013 11:40:11 GMT 1, I really want to like these but I just don't. Angels one looks rubbish IMO. Much prefer MW's tagging plus he usually hand finishes AND would be nearly half the price.
On the plus side the mrs is looking like she will get a Xmas present this year after all!

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by saint on Nov 26, 2013 11:45:45 GMT 1, He really shouldnt have released angel, its a shocking image and to my eye just looks like a Blek print that a kid has scribbled on.
The other one would have been fine on its own imo.
I agree, no quality control at the moment on these releases....

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by Art Fan 2011 on Nov 26, 2013 11:52:36 GMT 1, Do agree that Dolk`s older stuff is better, but having said that, Toy was, and still is hugely popular, although was in essance just a whole lot of colourful scribbles, odd how on some prints it works and some it does`nt! Some one mentioned the kid stood in front of a rope image , now that be released as a print, classic Dolk at his best !!!

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by Deleted on Nov 26, 2013 11:53:08 GMT 1, A nice flip for sure but I'm not sure how many will make walls. Graffiti Remover would be great as an original - not sure how well it translates to a print though.
I've seen the original Graffiti Remover oil painting at his show in Bergen and actually I thought it looked awful.
Really disappointed with these 2 prints.

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by whiteboy on Nov 26, 2013 11:59:04 GMT 1, I might want Angels to go with Toy and Evo but I'm not sure I really like it. 300 at £350. Prices definitely going up.

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by stvro22 on Nov 26, 2013 12:27:04 GMT 1, 4 prints or more per year, Ten years from now and the Dolk's prints will be given away for free by the galleries. Look at Dran, he knows how to set the supply and demand of His works, anyone wants a Dran, and its value continues to INCREASE; Because he also think of the future and not only to enrich themselves in the present. I do not understand the reason to do all these releases....seems that Dolk is becoming a middle way between MBW and Obey. Dolk has a great talent but I think all these releases are not very good at his art in the long term.
Well said. It's feels like such a formulaic approach at this point and reading the beginnings of this thread it's clear he's over staying his welcome. If I'm Dolk I start to save my pennies because the demand may some day not meet the supply.
All that's left at this point is a claim that they're all "Sold Out" a few minutes after the release.
One last thing, if I'm Dolk I would pay a little "visit" to one Mr. Whatson in the not too distant future. Norway is not such a big place. They might even bump into each other on the line at the hardware store purchasing the same color spray paints.

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by Deleted on Nov 26, 2013 13:03:12 GMT 1, insight or the first signs of intelligence have that effect on some Dont go on about 'meaning' with these tagged pieces please. what is the meaning then and has that been the same meaning for toy and evolution. probably not as there is no meaning at all.
just because you can't make the leap to find a meaning it doesn't mean it's not there.
aesthetically I can't say I like either of these prints. Having said that, Toy has to go down as one of Dolks best pieces purely because it's a huge attack on this scene and his 'fans' luckily none of them see that...It's called Toy, the girl loves them, that is this scene in a nutshell. I'd suggest that Angels is looking at religion and stating some of the central tenants have been tagged out of existence, it's questioning religion's place and the modern attitude to it. Opinions are like arseholes don't forget that Jboy.

Interesting thought, possibly a leap of faith tho?
What's the original image he's taken this from?

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by saint on Nov 26, 2013 13:23:15 GMT 1, Also, tagged out of existence??
If that is the meaning, how can you say MW's work doenst have meaning?
He's tagged over Zebras and a toucan, clearly indicating animals being tagged out of existence and referencing extinction, possibly of the rhino that was recently declared extinct. His angel was clearly tagged over to show how the belief in angels and religion as a whole is being tagged out of existence.
If its good for one, its good for another. IMO.
And saying that, i dont like any of it by either of them. Other than possibly toucan, but only because i like toucans.

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by natstan on Nov 26, 2013 13:40:10 GMT 1, I think MW has the edge and he springs to mind first because every single damn print he release lately employs this technique! Did 'toy' come out before MW went all taggy-happy??
wverLove that Angels print, and agree that it could be by either Dolk or Whatson (except the Whatson version would be sub £200), anyway I want it!!!!! Good prices and edition sizes, also good release time, unless your US based, looks like them guyes are in for another stupid alarm call! You're right about Dolk/whatson! When I recieved the HPM email, I first saw the pictures and I thought it was a collaboration with Whatson (ok ok it was just a "first feeling")!!

(I really don't care for much of this anymore. MW's work I find crass, dull and vacuous and Dolk's work particularly with his last show in mind, I find equally galling but more from a greed perspective)

DOLK “Graffiti Remover” & “Angels” Print Release, by twist65 on Nov 26, 2013 13:51:37 GMT 1, so, Angels is either a sub-GCSE attempt at creating a meaningful critique on religion, or a terrible image which the artist didn't know what to do with, so resorted to the tried-and-tested tag jumble overlay to make it look "street" and considered... I think i'll take the no-doubt-forthcoming hand finished version at approx £2k for an edition of 100 please!!

haha! i thought you were giving a serious account for it and had an insight into the original piece he used, possibly it was caravaggio's 'the descent of religion' or something..... Fair do's on the Toy piece, same meaning I always took from it.
