My apartment is rather small (at least by American standards) and I was never willing to give up one square meter to a proper Xmas tree, not even for a couple of weeks. So when a tree fell on my parents' property some years ago I decided to recycle it into this d.i.y. project. The three sections that are hanging made up the whole tree, so it must have been over 6 meters tall before I trimmed it. It's in an archway, takes up practically no space at all and gets the holiday vibes going. And when it's all over it takes about 15 minutes to take the ornaments off, tie the sections together and toss it in the storage space until next year.
