More of a gentlemens agreement. Personally I don't think there is a need as i doubt you would get your 30k back for a good number of years taking off fees etc. Not aware of many secondary market Os Gems reaching those figures yet; I think they will go sky high given their talent, just not yet. I wonder how many actually make the walls of people homes and not a collectors storage unit for twenty years.
Thats a serious risk to take if buying for investment only, imagine if they plummeted in value in that time which could quite possibly happen as nobody knows what an artist will or wont do and its much more than talent that makes or breaks their career... What a shame to have such a beautiful piece of art in bubble wrap and not to have enjoyed it for that time. You may as well buy stocks and shares or a banksy canvas, its much smaller and will cost you less in storage fee's

Why don't you try writing Hole, the new gallery in NYC which grew out of Deitch.
This show at Deitch, was not a sell out (although by now most of the pieces have probably gone somewhere or back to their studio) but there was tons of stuff available for 30k usd (the smaller painted doors for example) and up to about 100k or more for the really big pieces. The subway paintings I think were a quick sell.

But my point is be patient, they'll have more shows like this.
The ironic thing is hardly any of the Deitch shows were sellouts. And while these amazing shows were going on here, everyone was going gaga over and selling out fly by night stencil/street artists elsewhere.

Actually I think a couple paintings have sold for 40-60k (usd) at auction already. Check phillipsdepury
But yeah, I usually avoid no resell contracts. And those contracts that say you must offer it back to the gallery first before going to the open secondary market.
Yeah right, I'll sign that when I get a money back guarantee that all the art I buy will go up in value.

Yes Coach, been collecting their work for a few years now. This piece was in the Brazilian Museum Shows so i didn't see it for 18 months. Glad you like it.

While driving through one of the smaller towns n a taxi i saw a load of murals that looked very much like os gemeos (the yellow skin is a pretty obvous trademark, albeit one shared with the simpsons!). I didn't stop and take photos but i've checked since i've got home and there are a few pics on the internet that i thought i'd repost...

it's not bad quality for $0.01 (+shipping) but it's ultimatly a free poster that's still in the tube and will probably stay they - might get bluetacked to the wall at some point
