'Lithography is based on the mutual antipathy of oil and water. The image is drawn directly onto a special stone or metal plate with a grease or fat-based medium, such as a wax crayon or an ink wash. After chemical treatment, the stone or plate is dampened and then inked with a roller. The ink adheres to the greasy surface of the image. Paper and stone, or plate, are then rolled through a press and a print is taken.'
Which should be interesting when the technique collides with the twins style, can't wait to see it.

There's almost no chance anyone's going to get one of these. The only hope is this is just the begining of a very long series of releases from them and it's not another eight years or so between releases.

For me 2k on a print is a stretch. But I'm thinking of it as rarer than a banksy, so I guess it stings less.
At the end of the day Os Gemeos stuff sells in a similar range for originals as banksy but they have very few of anything else. A soccer ball, a poster, a scarf, a few vinyls? This will be amazing for those lucky enough to score one.

It appears they have a drop system in mind. They will release the site to their mailing list and it will be first come first served. All the friends and family bollox aside.
They say at the end "You will receive an email for each new issue on 99prints.net" Sounds like they plan on a modified version of the email lottery that Faile uses now for all of their releases.
I take all this with a grain of salt for a company that has been around for all of a week. And clearly the JR print never emerged.
We'll see. Oops gotta go, I just received an email notification...

JR hasn't immediately sold out a print in ages. He prices them as such so that a collector that wants the work will pay, but there is no meat on the bone for people to pop it on ebay and double their money.
Anyway I'm looking forward to it unfolding regardless.

And of all the prints that are released, a print by these guys will be on the short list for long term value.
