OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Deleted on Jan 30, 2014 21:25:46 GMT 1, I tried for this as I have loved the Twins work for ages and knew what a rare opportunity it would be. I failed to nab one. No sour grapes.
But I gotta say that the 10k profit margin on the one print sold would have been way too enticing... Not a flipper but that's a new Patio

Ebay listings are automatically entered as they finish. Private sales, on the other hand, are all up to the seller to list or not. Its a good way of tracking…at least ebay listings, that is.

Looking at the sales figures I was curious how accurate they were because they had the old OG print on there selling for 1000-1200 for an edition of 1001 and size of 8x10. If that accurate I am sure most of you can do the math for yourself. Besides those content with just bashing any mention of this being a decent release.

True. Maybe because it needs to be verified by ebay first. EB and ebay do in fact have a partnership.

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Winter on Jan 30, 2014 22:23:51 GMT 1, This further strengthens my idea that 4k for a print of OG is just a bit too much..... Happened today; They have not had trouble in writing the price before I'm out of this thread now. Jeff Koons, Pink Bow” (Celebration Series), 2013 Medium: Pigment Print on Japanese Watercolor Size: approx. 111 cm x 95 cm / 44″ x 37.5″. Edition of 50 Signed, numbered and dated by Koons Price: $6,350 www.newarteditions.com/new-hand-signed-fifa-brasil-2014-prints-kentridge-koons-orozco-oldenburg-et-al/..."The most famous piece of the series is Koons’ Balloon Dog (Orange) which sold at Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale in New York for $58.4 million, becoming the most expensive work by a living artist sold at auction. Koons created the ‘Pink Bow’ oil on canvas (270 x 346 cm) in 1995 -1997. " That puts a bit of perspective on things doesn't it? Not sure if I would have this on my wall but for an investment point of view this makes sense. £4k or whatever for a OG print is nuts especially if there are rumours of another release.
This has sold out apparently

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by maxf on Jan 30, 2014 22:29:38 GMT 1, Who is offended by a print release? Nobody surely?
If the price offends people, they need to remember there will always be stuff that people can't afford - whether it's a print, original, new car (which I have bought before unseen btw ), boat, holiday etc. Even the very wealthy have things they can't 'afford'! There is no right in a capitalist culture to have access to every luxury.
The only thing I'm offended by is the wanky website which wouldn't accept my details so it sold out!

I would exercise caution when reading anything on EB regarding prices

OS Gemeos 🇧🇷 São Paulo Graffiti • Brazil Street Art, by Deleted on Jan 30, 2014 23:03:17 GMT 1, On a side note. I can seriously say that I have written an art blog even if its more graffiti relatated and abstract art for the past 4 years. I am on the internet alot due to work and blogging which means I look at art hours at a time and read all major art blogs so forth. Until I became a member of this forum I had no idea who Dolk was, Martin Whatson, Dotdot and artists of this type. I have no idea how they slipped by me or maybe I never really paid attention but I never knew who these artists were, I knew artists like dface, stik, faile, bast, etc but I am still amazed how little I knew about these street artists. Maybe because I am american but these artists dont seem to pushed out here at all. I still dont know what that means but I have now learned about these artists because this forum, I continue to find out about artists regularly on here. Wait till you see Frongs works, also Stan & Letch, not to mention The Crewe Crew.

Some of the talk up top was who would you like to see a fine art piece print from that does not do regular releases.
There are probably a half dozen guys/gals that i love that i would love to see a fine art release from. John Fekner comes to mind. You can buy signed photographs, but i would love a fine are limited edition. Im sure there are some thinking, who the heck is John Fekner and why would anyone care and some others thinking, dang i would pay some good money for that.

Yes, it is definitely the signed version; it is an anniversary print that will remain in history; an official FIFA World Cup print from the highest-rated living artist in the art market; Even the print of the twins is an investment .... perhaps; at a lower price it would have been much more. The art market is a lottery; buy what you like, remember that the young artists of today will be the great artists of tomorrow, do not underestimate their potential.

But I can understand that there was an element of douchebaggery in not releasing the price and image of the print in advance. If they had released price and image in advance it would have been a more classy way to go about it, not that class amounts for much these days.
