When the release price was so high they weren't so certain they could make a profit on it. If the secondary prices remain high the next time they release a print it will be far harder to get hold of one as the people buying to flip them will know they can make a profit.
I do think the majority of these will go into good collections though.

Perhaps. But I think also a lot of genuine art lovers and collectors were also disappointed the price was so high, as it meant they couldn't go for one to frame and put on their wall. But the price is entirely up to the artists and the print house. So I have no complaints.

On the other hand, collectors have determined that the print is worth 10k usd and that will be used as a reference point for future sales.

Or was the secondary market price set by the release price, if you see what I mean on this one. Either way if you increase the amount of any given commodity the price will fall and there seems to be a limited amount of people who are willing to pay this much money for non Banksy urban art prints.
My cat got it's paw stuck in the letter box last night, £750 vet bill for amputated toe. Now where's that new sales thread button.....

He said that there were 30,000 hits on 99prints during the drop. He then went on to ask if I received the print in good condition. Good guy overall and signed my art giveaway from the ballet. Excited to see what he will be releasing next month. Congratulations to all who scored during the drop.
