OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Icesay on Feb 14, 2014 21:42:13 GMT 1, Maybe GP have made a real error. Dot Dot Dot new print is with someone else....Pez must be pissed with all this bs. They gone all quiet. If it isnt Banksy they lose if it is they lose. Should have just come clean. A good image sells itself......i'm lookin at Kunstrasen...an iriginal for 25 quid. Like public enemy said' dont believe the hype!' The only reason i would have bought this is because i thought it was Banksy and could sell for plenty dollar. I have a 10 pound print/ original on my wall and its one of the best pieces i have on the wall. No one else likes it but i didnt hang it for anyone else including the mrs!

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by eschiff on Feb 14, 2014 21:48:18 GMT 1, You're completely missing the point. He didn't "take away the brand", he did quite the opposite by deliberately manufacturing the con that the brand he was selling was Banksy. He's an artist referencing Banksy and the Urban Art market. Forget for a minute about the money and the perceived "scam" he's supposedly pulling. That's just the scene "projecting" its own ethics. The reason the thread is so long is more to do with the board trying to justify its own lamentable codes than it is the art. Look at it this way, if he only shifted 4 prints off the back of all that work, would you look at the concept differently ? Take away the focus on money for a minute and look at it as a project. I think it's pretty f**king good. so just to be clear on your position...artist no-one has heard of releases first ever print at 150 quid with a deceitful if clever marketing campaign with GP = fucking good. Os Gemeos releasing their first print after decades on the scene with the oldest print shop in Paris at 4k = insult to the scene.

I think it's pretty f**king good. "He's an artist referencing Banksy and the Urban Art market". No, he's pretending to be Banksy. "Forget for a minute about the money". Do that and the whole scam, like your argument, is as empty as the image he produced. It's not MY argument, it's A argument. An argument rightly used when discussing an art project. You only seem interested in discussing the scam, the money, the rip off etc, because you fervently believe the moral stance you have is correct or that the project transcends the general ethics of urban art collectors. I think his project kinda proves that it doesn't. It sold out. Had it failed miserably, you might have a point. For the record, artists generally don't spend months setting up elaborate scams to rip off random strangers, they make art.
But really, who cares. You don't like it, I do. Did I buy it, did I fuck. Do I like the concept, yep, that's it really.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by gatecrasher on Feb 14, 2014 23:13:38 GMT 1, Just bought a grey "Butt hurt" to go with my grey "Love hurts".
I'm going to stick them in cheap frames, hang them on a wall side by side and smile every time I walk past.
Sorry if some people think their urban art taste is somehow superior to mine but if my choice in art makes me smile or think and I don't have to sell a kidney to buy it, then that's good enough for me.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Deleted on Feb 15, 2014 1:11:15 GMT 1, Most of you know who it is, you just usually all slag it off and never buy it under his own name..hence, "take away the brand..and what do you have left"..sales ! haha, clever stuff. You're completely missing the point. He didn't "take away the brand", he did quite the opposite by deliberately manufacturing the con that the brand he was selling was Banksy. It was a joke Roger, I was being a smart ass, as usual. Someone kinda sort of pretended to be a bad Banksy for a minute, sort of. To sell prints that would have probably sold anyway to people who didn't think it was Banksy really. I'm outraged. ok ?

Don't worry I think most people got the joke.....most but not Roger clearly!!
I've only just read this thread for the first time. It's all got a bit out of hand and silly now.
Roger and all the other haters - calm down, there's worse things in life than a print release you don't like ok.
