OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Deleted on Feb 24, 2014 14:34:27 GMT 1, we have a release tomorrow by the mysterious artist OUTIS entitled LOVE HURTS. 3pm tomorrow 12th feb at 3pm graffitiprints.bigcartel.com/admin/products6 colour screen print on 300 gsm paper 50 x 50 cm. we loved this image and its subtle twist with it being valentines day and all that... main edition of 100 in grey at £90 pink edition is a timed release over 48 hours however many sold determines the final edition size at £150. It might be good if you gave the location of the wall that the elephant is painted on.
Just to prove it exists and not some sort of photoshop image?

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by maddoghoek100 on Feb 24, 2014 23:38:56 GMT 1, well the printing know how came from graffiti prints. before this they were known as graffiti prints, a reputable printer and reseller of artworks by some pretty good artist. they print things for a living and have apparently decided to trade their formerly stellar reputation for a few quick bucks and a chuckle at your expense.
the person who did the photoshop work was probably known as, student number 18497 at the DeVry online school of art until they finished this as their senior class project.
Ok, asking the same question another way: What did the artist now known as Outis call himself while he was getting the skills making Love Hurts? And the know how regarding printing, and printing skills. This artist must be known to some in the street art world?

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Mordecai on Feb 24, 2014 23:47:00 GMT 1, I'm not saying its Banksy, but I think it's to easy thinking it's some bloke who never made any art before. I do not believe it's graffiti prints either. All in all, the website and all the fuzz and work, it's not worth the little revenue it would end giving them... And they have more to loose than gain IMO.
It's a scam, a good one, the image is not the best, but a lot more ok than many others. And the perp sure know about our, the street art morons, mentality regarding print buying.

For me this whole affair has been very interesting and has been the perfect example of how effective subtle deception can be, implant a idea never confirm nor deny it then sit back and let it grow, politicians & big business have been doing it for centuries.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Wearology on Feb 25, 2014 1:09:04 GMT 1, This would be the greatest charade ever if by 0.01% Banksy ever posts on his site that he is Outis. This could rival the so called experts that said the Abraham Lincoln Banksy on cardboard was a fagazey until Pest Control verified it as authentic. What would the value of the print be if it ever turned out to be by Mr. B? I say CYW prices.

But it's been stated it's 100% not a banksy so why the need to inflame this vacuous thread?
Why not ask how much it would be if it was :
a) eyesaw
b) JPS
c) stik
they're all eminently more possible, but nowhere near as interesting for the uninformed or those with something to lose.

the print is by Outis i can confirm this 100%,
print is not just considered crap, i can confirm it is 100% shite.
the more you attach banksys name to this will not turn it into a banksy.
you have more chance of linking this to any other artist in the world not mr B.
peace.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Dr Plip on Feb 25, 2014 10:50:55 GMT 1, Based on my limited time here, I would say that Wiz and badrobot are both persons of high integrity. I would trust them with my forum life.
Graffiti Prints have said repeatedly that they are 99.9% sure/certain that it's NOT by Banksy.
In response to dexterbulldog asking:
"if someone else were to release a print as "outis" who would come forth to say that its a fake?"
Graffiti Prints replied:
"we would on his behalf - the only place releasing OUTIS piece's will be us..
anyone else using the OUTIS name to sell art would be passing off."
This sounds like they are convinced they have a strong tie or connection with the OUTIS "brand". If you didn't know who the artist was, could you make such a statement? If you believed the artist was really Banksy, again, would you make such a statement? Could you state that Banksy/OUTIS would only ever release products through your print store?
And with that, I'm out.

That's essentially an extension of the argument 'that's so easy, i could do it' that people spout when the go to modern art museums. The aesthetic of art is subjective, you may like or not like something that i feel differently about, however the value of art doesn't come from the aesthetics (though that doesn't hurt) it comes from the artist. Who are they? What period of time was this created (historical and social)? How will they be seen in 10 years, 20 years, 50 years?
I really hate that question because it tries to prove a point about how we all appreciate art but misses the mark. It's like asking someone who got a new porche if they would care if they found out their engine was done by FIAT. Does it change the aesthetics? Of course not. Does it change the value. Obviously.

this has more chance of being by my mom than it has having anything to do with Banksy.
if graffiti prints said my mom made it nobody would buy it.
it doesn't raise any questions about Banksys work, an artists long term success comes down to lots of factors and before an artist has success or a print release they usually go through many years of honing their skills, street work, developing style, ideas, creative process ect ect ect
can't believe i'm still writing on this thread.
apologies everyone.
the print is by Outis i can confirm this 100%, print is not just considered crap, i can confirm it is 100% s**te. the more you attach banksys name to this will not turn it into a banksy. you have more chance of linking this to any other artist in the world not mr B. peace. I don't like the print, I haven't purchased it, I am sure that it is not linked in any way with Banksy, and I think that Graffiti Prints words were deceptive. The question was different and starts from the claim (deceptive itself, but interesting) in Outis website: if you took away the brand name what would you have left? In other words: if you took away the name Banksy every artwork by him is great art in your opinion? this has more chance of being by my mom than it has having anything to do with Banksy. if graffiti prints said my mom made it nobody would buy it. it doesn't raise any questions about Banksys work, an artists long term success comes down to lots of factors and before an artist has success or a print release they usually go through many years of honing their skills, street work, developing style, ideas, creative process ect ect ect can't believe i'm still writing on this thread. apologies everyone.
