If you look at their history it's mainly tickets.
Most of his Banksy prints listings brag about low numbers. If there's software involved it's a sad day.

That look's like one of the music shops either on Charing Cross Road or Denmark Street, was near there this evening (not in that shop) but it looks like one of them. There is a couple of ticket agents along that street, selling concert and theatre tickets, looks like they have got their system down. Since the first releases this SG it's been pretty obvious there has been software involved, it's just not possible for 1000's of prints to get snapped up in less that 5 seconds.

Jesus Christ, by jam on Dec 18, 2007 1:47:48 GMT 1, Can't you request information when you are in a transaction with someone? You could just bid on one of his items then pass the details onto pow in theory?
Yes, the ebay rules are you can get the sellers contact information if you are in a transaction with them so you could bid on all the flipper prints and get their contact info to pass on to POW. Now perhaps if one or two people do it, POW will turn a blind eye, but if someone posts the info on the forum and 1k people email... it may get some results.

Jesus Christ, by verbalkint on Dec 18, 2007 2:16:35 GMT 1, ok, i have nothing againsed flippers really but this is soul destroying, it really is. I find it ludicrous that POW cannot detect this, but i suppose all you need is 3 different cards registered to 3 different addresses and you are OK. I know that i can afford to buy prints from the flippers but dont think for one second that i dont try to get them when they are released. I had a stop and search in the bag but used a visa electron to try to pay for it, so this was a bitter pill to swallow.
If you really want to piss this seller off just open a new account, buy a print, wait a week and then neg him. That might be a bit below the belt, but fuck it, i guarantee that losing his 100% feedback would make him as angry as you are all feeling right now

Jesus Christ, by ray on Dec 18, 2007 3:14:46 GMT 1, There was a big story over here a few weeks ago about a ticket company using software to get to the "front" of the line every time when purchasing online tickets. They were caught and are getting in trouble over it.
It looks like the ebay seller has directed the same software at the art world.
I'm guessing he has more than 3 of these but is selling them off a little at a time. Maybe there's software POW can buy to counter attack this? I hope so......This could happen every time a print comes up for sale.

Jesus Christ, by wazandy on Dec 18, 2007 3:44:04 GMT 1, I guess the question is just how POW see this situation.
As the sole agents for these prints, surely they know that artists like Faile & Banksy would want these to be owned by people who genuinely loved them, rather than ticket touts who can sell them off to the wealthy.
There must be a fairer system for distribution. I live in Sydney, and this is the third time I've sat up until four in the morning F5ing only to be beaten by presumably quite advanced software.
I've got three prints, and they're the best things I have. I wont sell them and I'd love another.
Looks like that day has come and gone unfortunately.
I do think a lottery is possibly the fairest system - but what about this - a private POW ebay style auction for every print starting at a single pound would be fairer.
We all bid what we can afford. If we get a print, great. If we don't - well, we didn't have the money anyway.
And artists prints will go for their exact market value, rather than what a tout thinks it's worth - we'll make the whole market fairer.
It'll kill off the shill bidding because POW will be running it.
And, at the very least - it'll kill off the touts.
Aaahhhh, back to -20 reputation! Happy Christmas everybody !

Jesus Christ, by themightyreds on Dec 18, 2007 8:30:08 GMT 1, Nothing you can do about people flipping the one they just bought themselves but 3 at once is really a piss take... even more so to those that spent yesterday afternoon trying and failing (myself included) to get just one for themselves.
Would put money on touts having used software for getting these prints, probably as far back as on the Applause release.

Jesus Christ, by monstris on Dec 18, 2007 9:01:47 GMT 1, Pow should check for tony coe
Right. There are six Tony Coes in the UK. What you can do is try to contact one of his/her former clients and ask about the vendor in a prospective "vetting" email. This is on the borderline of what you can and can't do on eBay but there is no way of proving or disproving your intention to buy.
There are around 40 Anthony Coes I've found so far.
But that could be looking at the wrong person entirely. Tony Coe is a jazz saxophonist and clarinetist.... That's what you get if you type in Tony Coe tickets in Google. I think this chap is someone totally different.
This is just annoying. The listing overtly states one per customer. That's how it's been for some time. If the days when you could buy one signed and one unsigned, ask someone at POW to hold one back for you etc are over, it would be good to get some support from the people imposing the rules. Perhaps a clause highlighting one per household or one per person, per address, per card can close the gap a bit.
Any suggestions?

Jesus Christ, by dotdot on Dec 18, 2007 9:37:06 GMT 1, I recognise the name ie their last name - they have sold banksy prints in the past bin - if my memory serves me right.
It's to put it mildy a shame to find this person selling prints which are by definition sought after by us fans. We knew it was going on for a while - this doesn't exactly inspire us now does it.
The question is what does pow do about it ?
Do they randomize the page on which the art work will appear ?
Having a page alog the lines of
www.santasghetto.com/shop_items.asp?artist=Banksy
is kind of easy to monitor.
This would shurley be a good place to start.
Don't by bins from touts ever.
