Prison Painter framing, by tigerblood on Mar 29, 2014 16:41:10 GMT 1, Thinking about re-framing my Prison Painter- and probably my Boxer in the same style. Currently they just have a thin black metal frame, no mat, UV glass, acid free yada yada. They are really boring- in fact I kind of hate them as they aren't fitting of the quality of these prints. No tape was used so possibilities are endless as they are minty fresh still so I can float, mat or whatever.
Question is, how would you recommend framing?
I am interested in a modern look and feel. I really haven't seen many (any?) good Mister Frame Man -like examples.
Maybe Ruggs, Gulosten, gletak, @amboguy, Gard, @martedanielsen or Nuart Gallery have an idea or a pic to share. :-)

But I really like Dolks prints when you float mount them and hide the edge behind the side of the frame. There's so much empty space in his prints so when you add a matt it just makes it bigger, but not better. I found this picture of a Toy I once had.

Prison Painter framing, by tigerblood on Mar 29, 2014 17:56:44 GMT 1, I agree Gard- most all of my frames are simple white or black and no matting- some floated some not. All of my RAE prints and even my Dolk pig and Punk are like that. I think it works best with prints with a solid background though- not these two with their brown (and blue) backgrounds and small white border. It makes them tougher to frame in my opinion.

I'd use the KISS principle for a Prison Painter - Keep It Simple Stupid !
