Bought my 2nd piece of art in 2 days :D, by fatherxmas on Dec 23, 2007 14:27:37 GMT 1, After buying a d-face dollar bill yesterday of a forum member i have just bought my 2nd piece and also my 1st banksy.
I have bought BANKSY "WELCOME TO HELL" NUMBERED AND STAMPED, LIMITED EDITION OF 175 unsigned for just under £700 but gutted i missed out on BANKSY "love rat" 
What does everyone think? I think it was a fair price and i havent seen many on the bay!

Both the WTH rat and the MQ are great prints. £520 for any Banksy print is a reasonable price, but it's particularly good value for the Pre LA prints.
Three prints in two days- it sounds like you're developing a nice collection in a big hurry. If you're feeling a bit poorer later on check out the £50 thread, there's some great stuff out there that's very reasonably priced.

To be totally honest ive just let go one ofmy investments and ive got a bit of money to spend on a colection i was thinking maybe spending about2,5k but i think im gonna spend about 5k in the coming weeks. I have so many empty walls in my flat that need filling.

I haven't seen a MQ go this low before so even allowing for Xmas etc. I just had a quick check on the bay and can't see either as finished listings. Not wishing to worry you in the slightest, just surprised these went by without me or anyone else noticing (although I am trying to stay away from temptation at the moment  )

Bought my 2nd piece of art in 2 days :D, by darjeeling on Dec 23, 2007 15:57:21 GMT 1, I think the prices are low on these because of VAT issues - and well also because the hysteria behind Banksy has dwindled a bit - but honestly I don't think they're a "good" deal but a "fair" deal. Even if these don't skyrocket in price, and I wouldn't expect them to, you can be happy that at least several months ago you would have paid a few hundred more for these.

I had some correspondence with him about the pair of rats early on and agreed to buy them so long as he would email me extra photos of the prints and provonance... then poof, he was gone and not one more email was replied to. Well fishy as far as I am concerned, and I wouldn't give the guy a dime unless you can track each prints full history back to POW.

U damn Brits inflating US prices I bought a Banksy from a US seller a month or so ago for $1500, the same print sold a week later in the uk for $2400! And if I didn't get Lucky with Trolley and S&S I would have been bidding on one of these.

From the communication I had with the seller Im sure you'll have no problem. There are pictures (even in the art republic frames), receipts, and she's the original buyer of a few of them too. Hope it all works out for you mate - Im sure it will

This is a prime example of the ridiculousness of the respect system. does the fact that fatherxmas bought a new print really warrant a +1? makes no sense. he didn't contribute anything positive to the banksy.info community - he was simply sharing a little anecdote and asking a question. If anyone deserves a +1 it should be heidiho for posting an informative answer to fatherxmas's question.

I thought I'd check the listing again and saw the seller has never sold anything before and even though he has been on ebay since 2003 he hasn't bought anything in the last 6 months and only has a rating of 15 (albeit 100%). He had at least three Banksy's for sale so each will have be > $1k so pretty hot first sales.
I did get a great bargain off a UK based low feedback seller earlier this year, but would normally want to pick up any item for this sort of cost myself rather than risk delivery. Obviously not possible this time and fingers crossed for you it all works out 100% ;D
