I can't believe this Art is still available!, by Ruggs on Apr 6, 2016 17:04:42 GMT 1, I'm not at all surprised that a $1,500 print in an edition of 350 is still available.
I'm not at all surprised that a $1,500 print in an edition of 350 is still available. I think for a Howard Hodgkin that represents terrific value. I can vouch for the quality. I have one and it looks incredible. Funny thing is one of these has sold at auction for ยฃ4k and one only very recently for ยฃ2k and is still available at source. |

Zevs - Liquidated Atlas World Wide from 2013. I picked one up last week and it's flattening now prior to going to the framer. They had 3 left after I bought mine mid last month.

I enjoyed it and found some pieces via that one that currently hang in our home. If someone can find it and refresh it i'll delete this one, but just in case I thought perhaps we'd start a new one? Yes can't remember its name something like I Can't Believe This Is Still Available was surprising what was lingering and a number of things posted were snapped up and sold out...

I'm not saying it's not worth it. Just that when you go north of $1,000 for a print, you're getting into a much more limited market. I'd expect a run of 150 to sell out. But I'm not surprised they couldn't move 350 at that price.

Auctions can be very strange, I went to the Manor F1 auction and people were paying more then the new price for off the shelf standard tools that anyone could pick up from a machine mart. Didn't even have their logo sticker on. Absolute madness.

Given the news of the allegations against Bambaataa* that came to light in the last week I reckon these might be available for a while yet.
* Which I'm absolutely gutted about by the way, he was one of my childhood heroes and responsible for some cracking DJ sets when I've seen him in recent years so it's disturbing to read lots of things now implying that it was a bit of an open secret in the industry, making him the hip hop Jimmy Savile.

I'm sure it's just me but I don't get this and struggle to see the skill of the artist in this piece? Looks like blue paint dropped on a canvas and then smeared around using kitchen roll?? (IMO)

As mentioned, it is a bit of a high edition, but I could not agree more, winter. The shiny/glossy stock with the thick hand-finishing makes this a very good introductory piece and/or compliment to any Bรคst collection -
