I am away while this show is on so really disappointed to miss it

Adam Neate The Brothers, Art Beijing 2014, by Carrie on Apr 22, 2014 15:26:38 GMT 1, Great stuff! Proper artist IMO - Always changing/experimenting with things his working on, yet keeping that "signature" style familiar simultaneously.

Adam Neate The Brothers, Art Beijing 2014, by curiousgeorge on Apr 22, 2014 16:54:03 GMT 1, Spooky! My brother and I were doing just that 3 hours ago
More seamless shape shifting from Neate. Sad he doesn't get so much attention these days, all that pretty much stopped when you could no longer flip his work for a profit.Always the same handful of people who chat about him now

Adam Neate The Brothers, Art Beijing 2014, by johnnyh on Apr 22, 2014 18:03:21 GMT 1, Think that's a good thing George. No need to flip as he produces lots of new work each year that is excellent.
So doesn't work for the flippers and he makes the money rather than them making money offit he produces enough new work each year.
As far as I know his show schedule is UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Beijing. There may be others but that's what I know of. He produces new work for each one. Not every piece is new but always some new pieces at each show and then a big do in a london. So that's a decent turn around of pieces each year
when I was in the UK recently saw some new pieces that were just stunning so think it will be another cracking year for him

Adam Neate The Brothers, Art Beijing 2014, by Deleted on Apr 22, 2014 22:04:17 GMT 1, I think you've wholeheartedly missed the point George was making Johnny, making a decent number of originals and some editions each year doesn't make adam unflippable it's that there's no real market to do such things.
This isn't an anti neate remark I'm a huge fan, but seemingly his purchaser base is pretty limited, with no huge demands...

Adam Neate The Brothers, Art Beijing 2014, by johnnyh on Apr 23, 2014 11:31:06 GMT 1, No I understand your point Badrobot. But if you look at his editions and the amount of originals he is producing each year he is pretty much satisfying his market. The print flipping market he does not satisfy at all as he does not produce prints.
He has his editions one or two of those such as the hug are trading. He produces more originals per year than any other artist I know. He also hits into different price brackets and none of them are cheap. He is in the Contempoary rather than street or Urban so not sure he fits the flipper market.
Why pay extra for a flip when you can get a new original from Elms. If you contact Elms I am sure they can sort people who want one at their direct price. Flips work when demand is bigger than supply. Not sure he is targeting that mass as his piece mix is not suited eg he does no prints so he is as you say in a limited market.

Adam Neate The Brothers, Art Beijing 2014, by Gentle Mental on Apr 23, 2014 16:10:00 GMT 1, going to beijing! can't wait to see it in the flesh!
had long chats with the man in Singapore the last time he was around, incredibly nice guy. soft spoken but laser focus.
the gist: dimension may not be a necessity in his art, but i think he wants to fuse technology with classical painting styles in a very organic and natural way to create new forms of expression that are precisely smudgy.
it's the inverse of photoshop. don't look at the jpegs. see it in the flesh, as and when we can. as often as we can.
