He's had museum shows dedicated to his work. He has forums built in his name, and every time he paints a wall it's considered worthy of a newspaper story. He's had a best selling book, and been nominated for an oscar. He's one of the world's most famous living artists.
Jeremy Geddes has done a couple of nice prints that get flipped on ebay.
So yes, I think spending $5k on a print by someone that personally i've only ever seen 5 or 6 paintings by on the internet is a bit mad.
He's obviously a very talented artist, and i'm looking forward to seeing his work develop in the future. I think the prices for his prints are insane though. Still... hope i'm proved wrong and the $5k turns out to be a great investment.

Oh ok I see....Prints are only worth $5k when you've had museum shows etc etc!
Prints are only worth what buyers are willing to pay for them and what sellers are prepared to let them go for.
Whilst I understand your opinion and viewpoint, I'm not going to question someone offering an amount of money for a print from any artist when I don't their motives, their values or their bank balance for that matter!

Not many will sell this, and there is only 30 of them.
Might not be worth $5, it might be, i dont know, but i think you need an offer like that to obtain this print.

True reflection of your value or the potential buyers?! Beauty (and value) is in the eye of the beholder!
This isn't a debate about the market or a consensus opinion on the value of the print.
The OG poster has clearly made his valuation....Whether anyone agrees with it or not, whether he could get it cheaper or not, is irrelevant except to him and anyone that owns one.
Therefore the point is we neither know the OG posters motivation, inclination or anything else about them. They are perfectly entitled to offer what they like!

I dont think that is relevant in this case. The poster offered this amount cause that was what he was willing to pay.
I have not seen these sell on the open market, nor have i seen any indications on price. So im my book these dont have a 2ndary market price.
This will by no mean set the market price for Geddes's big prints, but i dont think they will get a price like others, as we will not see them for sale i believe.
If anyone has any info on what these has sold for in 2012, please share.

If you think that's too high you should see what one guy paid for a Large Geddes - Heat Death...IIRC he paid a price that singlehandedly ensured that I wouldn't be getting one anytime soon. 
This is about as high as I can see Large Cosmo going for and it is a completely reasonable offer.
Best of luck to the buyer.

I cannot as per a couple of the comments see him dropping in and out of fashion much. Think his work is very fine so will have a strong base for the future as it crosses over the boundaries and will appeal to a very broad range of people.

I'm not too keen on unframing and posting Adrift and St Jeremiah due to the risk of damaging the black inks. I guess these two will have to be Australian sales only ( St Jeremiah is rather small print and frame so worldwide postage cost may not be too crazy)

Red Cosmo $1700 (near mint. unframed)
Cluster $600 (near mint, unframed)
Warmer Air $200 (near mint, unframed)
The Street $1700 (near mint, framed)
Cafe $1800 (near mint signed Horizontally, framed)
Adrift $1800 (near mint no smudges or marks on the black, framed)
St Jeremiah Finally Receives Illumination $3000 ( framed, a few small scuffs in the black, barely noticeable framed on wall. I bought it this way with full disclosure from the seller, i was also very happy to have it on my wall. I can provide as many photos of the marks as needed)
