I have advertised with a fixed price multiple times and received a lot of abuse, so this time I don't care. People will always find things to complain about because things don't fit their agenda. This is not an auction, I'll sell if I find a buyer that offer me a price I would like to sell for. Not the highest bidder. This is a highly sought after item and serious buyers know what that means. Flippers and speculators will always try to make a bargain.

Well if you would sell to someone who offered you a price you are happy with why not just put that price
down and be done with it.
If not be honest and say you want the highest bid.

This is confusing, i cant figure out what to offer, if i dont offer exactly the price you want i wont get it, reminds me of guess how many jelly beans in the jar at primary school. This isnt going to work fella, when the person gets to the price you want they'll be the highest bidder and then you wont sell to them cause youre not selling to the highest bidder?

Don't take this as a dig but as a gallery who has all their Banksy prices as POA, I think your post is a little "pot calling the kettle black"

You want the best price you can get, so adjust them as the enquiry comes in.  Pressplay wants the best price for his piece, balanced with the possible hassle factor of who he sells it too.

Personally I'd rather sell to someone who lived near me, then in the same country, or even posts on here alot etc. That highest bid from a member with 2 posts who lives in Azerbaijan just might not be the one I accept

Hey gatecrasher, the point i was making is he wants a price but wont say what it is, if youre the highest bidder you wont get it, if youre too low you wont get it, therefore you have to bid the exact amount and have someone bid higher(so youre not the highest bidder) to get it. I have poa on my prices for a few reasons ive went over before, if you contact me i will tell you the price unlike pressplay who wants you to guess, its nonsense, tell people how much you want and if they want to pay they will. I do not adjust prices as offers come in, set prices on any day, same price to everyone. For example i'll raise your offer to £15500, id guess that would make me the highest bidder  but itll be more than pp was thinking so no good. I didnt take it as a dig btw  
Other option is offers over, if you state a price you'll accept and if people want to offer higher to secure they  can.

Pressplay, what if an offer came in that you were happy with at 5pm today then a few minutes later you had a greater offer?, where does the cut off line come?.

Blind auctions are fraught, someone could offer 500 and the next higher bid could be 1500, the person offering 500 might want to bid 1600 but will not know about the 1500 bid, nobody knows except you and the highest bidder you see?.

If I was selling it and wanted 3k I would say 3k ono, if I wanted 75 quid I would say that.

For the last time @andy3636, having the highest bid won't win you this print if it's below what I'm happy with. In that way it's not an auction. If the bid is within a price range I'm happy with then I will of course be happy to sell. Something should go without saying.

@wiz, that scenario is unlikely. If I haven't responded and accepted the first bid I will go for the second. In that scenario I might want to ask the guy with the lower bid if he wants to bid higher, but in general I don't want to involve half serious buyers who only wants to buy if they beat the market price aka flippers.
