I know you may have your own reasons but this forum really isn't the place to 'big up' things just to sell them on at a premium. AN is a nice guy who made a nice gesture to you, this isn't the right way to repay such gestures. If SwedishGirl is right it sounds like you were disappointed with the auction result so thought you'd search around a few forums looking for some other mug to play your game. £3k was a good offer, I hope when that CC bill comes through you don't regret turning it down.

Until about a week or so ago i didnt even realise what i had so i have come these forums to learn as much as ican and then make an informed decision about what i do, the more im learning the more fascinated i am getting and really have no intentions of parting with it. Im not trying to get peoples backs up i would really like to learn from you guys.Please believe me im not the enemy a bit naive when it comes to all this but not maliscous.

I would have liked to be accepted by you and gained knowledge from people who obviously know so much more than me. Hopefully we can draw line under this and carry on.

This is similar to people who put their houses up for sale just to test the market. Potential buyers spend a lot of time and effort viewing and discussing the property. They make an offer, and then the 'seller' says "Oh, I'm not really selling. I just wanted to see what my place was worth and how much interest I'd get."

Is the whole art world this perdantic? maybe lightening a little would help everybody lose the anger. You dont have to be depressed and dark to enjoy art and you shouldnt make it such a closed shop you should welcome newcomers and offer advice there is enough paintings and prints to go round, make it an enjoyable expirience and dont sully something that should be beautiful by chastising people who dont know any better because they strayed off your rigid rules
