The connection seemed to be less and less likely, the joke less and less powerful, the prints kept coming the primary price more and more expensive, the secondary market absolutely dead,still there people willing to purchase though, I don't whether to laugh or cry.

Highly likely I'm wrong but it did seem like a set up to once again mock the artworld which spiralled completely out of control, Thierry has a crazy amount of energy and belief in himself to achieve, like a Duracell bunny with inbuilt rechargeable batteries, not sure many others could have milked it to that level. Maybe it was just an off the cuff comment saying "why don't you have a go", take the Banksy connection out of it and the madness that is MBW would not exist, he did unleash the French lunatic on the artworld though purposely or not! |

Everything depends on what we lived in childhood, in fact... Kid, I lived in a very small village with a parish priest and a teacher austere and authoritarian... I didn't like school, I was bored, and these Poulbot and Buffet pics on the walls are synonymous with boredom and lost eyes fixing the blank painting . Why Mr Brainwash reminds me one of these painters ? ...

I like this pic, it was where I pass ( escape ) my real life full of art and beautiful rooms full of liberty : in my neighbor ' house where I had my only and best friend, son of a great and cultivate antiquarian ( lol , I robbed then some stamps - to the father - that we're robbed after by my ex during the divorce.
Hopefully, then, there we're my legs or my bike running always to the sun , or in the awesome Kane house of my young mate. Within that , I would be dead or crazy.
Thank you Plip for this, remembering my past. Crying was not a problem at all, my parents learned to me.
Sorry for this little escape. This forum is good. Most of the people here are awesome and kind.

I am also in the "I enjoy one out of every 1000 MBW prints" camp - I still like Bat Papi/Cat Nana, and I kinda like that one of the kid blowing up the Koons dog. This one, not for me.

As a long time NYC resident I find it a lazy cliche, and unlike the 1 Day Banksy Art Sale near Central Park last October I wouldn't be surprised to see this at numerous vendor tables every day, along with the framed "autographed" Bieber and One Direction photos.

No, there is a strong contingent here that think Whatson's art is a bit formulaic, and personally I thought the Beejoir take on the commodity known as Hirst spot on.
