It doesn't make any sense..

If the FBI does investigate, he'll likely find himself on the wrong end of a lengthy prison sentence. Sounds like a fun social experiment.

*Edit - Im not defending him and want to see proof just like everyone else. But, im not going to let his post get misconstrued.

"......this has already been addressed in a previous post, but yeah sure. The money we raised from the Shepard, Invader and faile tees was donated to the artists 4 water campaign page on the charity's site. The charity didn't want to accept the other money from WWD tee, so we planned to donate to another water NPO. However, the same piece of shit blogger who harassed the first charity, now harasses every artist and organization that we try to work with. He creates fake online profiles, makes fake BNE facebook pages, creates links to the FBI on street art forums, and encourages people to file complaints and on and on. Artists stick with us and know what this kid is up to, but charities cannot afford to have their name next to the word "scam". We could have donated the money on the low to an NGO without announcing it, but everyone would want to know where it went. So, we will be going back to working directly with people in need and small local NGOs in South-East Asia this winter. It's actually better this way, because we will see the money actually put to work much faster than if we donated somewhere else. For example, the water project that we helped fund with money from the from the Shepard, Invader and faile tees will take that organization 12-18 months to complete."

Meh meh meh the FBI is chasing me but it's unwarranted so I'm gonna go to Asia and clean the water myself.

Amazing! So he's paying himself 30k to go do volunteer work!
What a strange way to behave! Especially the bit where he grasses himself up before attempting to leave the country! Utter genius.

Read his last instagram comment on his last post. Lies are the last thing this place needs. *Edit - Im not defending him and want to see proof just like everyone else. But, im not going to let his post get misconstrued. And by that, he's admitted he's keeping the money. The shirts were sold under the pretense that he would donate the money to charity. When the original charity refused the donation due to what they felt was a fraudulent misrepresentation, he claimed he would donate it to a different charity. He never followed through.
He lied and said that some blogger contacted every charity he approached and scared them away. Because this blogger magically knows every single charity that he spoke to. Then he made an illogical statement that he could donate the money anonymously, but that he would have no way of proving it. He could very easily donate the money and post the receipt six months later after it's spent. It's not like he has a problem keeping things secret for long periods of time.
So instead, he now claims he's going to do the work himself, where there will be no transparency whatsoever. Even in a best case scenario where he does spend all of money in Africa (which we have no reason to believe he would) he still would have committed fraud as he collected the money under the pretense that the money would go to charity, not that the money would go to himself and then he would spend it as he sees fit to do good.
As a side note, he'll also likely find himself in trouble with the IRS. Had he donated the money to charity as stated, he could have claimed it as a charitable deduction. The way he's doing it now, that money is considered taxable revenue. If he fails to report it and pay taxes on it, he'll commit income tax evasion and open himself up to even more legal trouble.
All in all, he's not a very bright guy.
