It didn't cost much at all, but it made a lot of people happy. Back then, I naively believed that it would be possible to unite the worldwide #graffiti + #streetart community, and create a revolutionary NPO straight from the streets. It didn't really work out and turning the original idea into a reality started to seem impossible. What I've learned since then is that it's necessary to appeal to everyone's self interests beyond altruism. Silly things like ice bucket challenges are necessary because you cannot simply say "Hey, this is an urgent cause, there's a lot of us, if we all pitch in we can do something huge!" and actually expect that to work. It's necessary for me to hit up people like Shepard Fairey, Invader and Banksy just to get people to care. Even with the support of some of the world's greatest artists, my original plan and goal still seem completely out of reach. We were ready to give up plenty of times, but each time, something happens to remind us that there are people out there that actually do care. Thanks to everyone who has supported. Apologies for not executing this more professionally and accomplishing more, but like I said, this is straight from the streets, not a public relations office."
