I think the whole BNE affair was scummy, but I think you taking a negative and putting your own positive spin on it is brilliant. It's a great two-tiered lesson for your kids. It's teachers like you who make a big difference in children's lives. I don't have kids but if I did, I could only hope they have teachers like yourself.

A few years ago we actually communicated directly with Ai Weiwei (via email) and my students created flower artworks for one of his projects. We talked about the man, his troubles in China and connected how his problems relate to the problems faced by the Chinese during the Cultural Revolution. My students became obsessed. I still see those students out and about, they always ask about him, like he was a friend. Amazing!

Who gives a merde about anything else. This is about raising awareness for water related issues around the world. If I can get a bunch of 10/11 year olds in Florida to pull their heads up from their smart phones for a second to think about others besides themselves, I am satisfied. Call in naรฏve if you wish. Oh yes, I know all about the BNE controversy and even shared my feelings directly. I chose to do something positive rather than ruminate on things that are outside my control.
As for proof, I don't require any proof. I've moved on because I did what everyone else had the chance to do a year ago, I asked for a refund. After that, I donated the $ directly. Many others did the same thing.

This was such a sh*t show and basically a scam. I edited the BNE Wikipedia a couple of times to add this whole thing in and to make sure it wasn't forgotten, but it was always removed by some mod saying I didn't have any proof/no sources to back it up.
What does he mean proof and sources lol. I lived to whole thing, ordered the shirts, then BNE tried pretending it was by Banksy when it wasn't etc., then we all got refunds because he was pressured by Banksy/POW/people buying. No proof needed, just the truth.

Apart from the misspelled "Bansky", this text is a direct copy of the statement made on the official website of Banksy at the time of the initial release. As of yet, no feedback have been given by BNE regarding how many t-shirts have actually been sold.
The invader t shirts were 40, and the fake t shirt that was supposed to be by Banksy, but was a total scam, was 80. USD that is. There was a 20 usd shipping fee. The shipping was massively delayed, the Banksy connection was a total marketing scam, and Banksy had nothing to do with it at all. More importantly, didn't he pocket the majority of the money raised? I got the invader t shirt but the bad taste of what he had done meant I gave it straight to a charity store. There was some lip balm I kept tho, my wife used to rip me for using it, but I had dry lips so what can you do. I lived to whole thing, ordered the shirts, then BNE tried pretending it was by Banksy when it wasn't etc., then we all got refunds because he was pressured by Banksy/POW/people buying. No proof needed, just the truth.
