So this Print seriously Sold Out 6 editions of 25? Really? So there are 150 People that actually bought this, and the Robert Proch print still is available as an edition of 70? Proch mind you is a reputable artists who sells out every show has a backorder of commissions, consistently paints Monumental size walls that are quality. Stein Well Ill leave it at that, dont want to Bash the artist its not his fault he has made a terrible image that sold out.

This has nothing to do with taste, I know stencil art the same way I know graffiiti, fine art, contemporary art it all has levels of talent and different aesthetics. Each is unique but with each you are always able to identify the quality from the bad, I can show you bad graffiti, bad contemporary art, and bad stencil street art. Taste is something that defines maybe a genre but not an individual piece of Art. This is an atrocious piece of art compared to other stencil artists he clearly is influenced by. Its not his fault and I am in no way bashing the artist or his intent, but I can say this image is bad and it has nothing to do with taste. As a curator myself I look at art all day most days, and what I might not like due to taste I can always appreciate due to other factors that play into creating a work of art. You have to be subjective when viewing an image and take into account many factors especially when buying a work of art, GP curated this print by selecting the artist and accepting the image and It seems to have sold out. But the taste of the many in this forum compared to whoever the 150 people who bought this doesn't add up. There are not 150 people in here or even 50 people in here saying this print is great. Maybe 10 people bought 10 each, we dont know. What I do know is that when everyone is saying the image is bad and it still sells out, either the forum doesn't really represent the market for this or there are other behind the scenes factors involved in the sellout. You have close to 20% of the comments in this thread maybe you bought 20% of the prints as well nobody knows these things. I am only commenting on my amazement to the whole thing, it really is insane.

Sway people, its just an observation. It is also a forum based on opinions and when opinions dont add up to the facts things get suspect. Anti-Hyping if you want to call it that really could be said to be stating ones opinion about the art Once, maybe Twice then moving on. You clearly are here to defend every comment and blame it on people out against you. I dont know your history but its been mentioned in multiple comments, Ill leave it at that. You can hype all you want I dont see anything wrong with pushing an artist or someone that I feel deserves some attention I myself do this basically all the time. The difference is I dont have a financial interest in the art being hyped, or the artists, and second I dont continue to push the subject over and over again by spamming threads with useless comments. You make the thread say your piece then let it play out, if its good it stays relevent if its not of use its falls to the bottom of the forum. You clearly make it a point not to let it drop to the bottom which is why people say you are hyping. I dont think it matters much just dont act so naive to the tactics, and yes I am aware the artworld is not all in this forum but I have met and always appreciate reading comments from some great collectors with a good amount of knowledge.
