I dont understand how a new artist can demand that Price. I know many established artist that dont demand that price. I wont really comment on the art or artists as I dont want to be too negative, other than its not my thing. If this indeed did sell out I would be taken back a bit, there is so much out there you can still buy and quality. For Example anything on here www.drawaline.de/ I am always surprised when something like this gets any Hype. Theres some nice prints on that drawaline site.
I think these days if the screenprint has someone wearing a hoodie and a one color background it attracts a lot of urban art collectors who can't afford more expensive similar looking rpints.

GP has quickly become a well oiled, mass-producing machine of vaguely aesthetically pleasing, clinical 'street art' from 'artists' with no history or name. This isn't a dig- the print house has obviously found a market clambering over each other to eat this all up, and they've done a great job at meeting supply. 7 colour ways, 2 metal variants, PP's galore. It's all just a bit dull, a bit shallow and a bit forced for me. That's my rant for the month over. Sorry!
Printers like gp make names and have done well doing so.

I think the hoodie wearing people has been done to death though.
I do wish that when stencil art is sold as prints etc the sellers say if it's a photo stencil or a stencil thats done from a hand drawn original.

Yes its a different taste and I never suggested anything or bash the artist I mentioned it was not my thing, my question involved how does this artist demand that price and how does GP come up with that price? It was a genuine question. Everyone has their own taste, mine or yours neither is better than the other. You are the only one continually protecting this print and responding back when its clear the majority of comments dont like this print. Minus all your comments on here and your left with people not interested and a couple of people that like it. We get it you like it, now unless you have something other than that to say why keep posting and defending the artist. |

think the colours will go first, spoken to a few people about this and most are going for white.

Don't waste your time, freerange isn't interested in a discussion, just keeping the thread going and hoping to mop up some poor saps into buying something they don't want ... Down the line creating enough interest to sell his canvas - he's been doing it for years - forget about it.
