I felt special receiving the invite and going through the clandestine process of getting the link and password, and Castles and Elephants posted all the info here. Also, I thought the first rule of presale was "We don't talk about presale"? Either way, I bagged a main edition. My first Eine so I'm excited.

Eine • Revolution Print, by nicey on Oct 29, 2014 0:25:51 GMT 1, Pricing and edition sizes are fine for an artist like Eine. I love the silver and peach colorways, but I just can't get into the difference in kerning between the top and bottom rows. I don't think I'm obsessive/compulsive, but that would bother me every time I walked by it. it's not just the kerning that's bad… the width of each letter in the entire bottom line is compressed. the bottom letters are the same height as the letters in the first two lines but are much thinner. here are examples showing the two "O"s and the stems from two different letters. the typography is absolutely horrible for a print that only has type. The perspective on the middle bar of the E and F of the circus font also bugs me, all the other letters in the font have correct perspective, IMHO the geometry looks off to my OCD.

Eine • Revolution Print, by Hairbland on Oct 29, 2014 15:07:02 GMT 1, I was being ironical. I bought. There's no "revolution" in making a 300 piece print run...especially a print run that will gross over $150,000.
Anyone who bought / buys one - congrats!
The circus font is a classic, maybe his best.
Someday I'll pick up his iconic circus font alphabet print (minus the W, when he cared how things fit graphically).
Looking online at his body of work it appears this print is one of the few (if only) works that he squeezed.
The "slimming" of the bottom row reminds me of when I worked with Glenn Danzig on his 2004 Circle of Snakes project - he used a slimming option in photoshop (or quark, ha ha) that made him appear much slimmer than he was.

I've got a couple and love them. You can get them on the Own Art scheme too.

If the gloss black is anything like the New York Sauce finish, I actually think that is the best background for Circus Font…so for those who have the cash it might not be a bad option
