Faile - Works on Wood book, by tas on Oct 21, 2014 2:59:10 GMT 1, I'll probably just grab a regular book. I understand the slip is hand painted but an extra $285 for a book cover is too much for me.

Faile - Works on Wood book, by disdig1 on Oct 21, 2014 3:07:03 GMT 1, i think its a pretty fair deal all things considered. would have been really cool if they had actually made the cover to the book out of wood but i don't know how that would have worked.

Faile - Works on Wood book, by maddoghoek100 on Oct 21, 2014 6:42:45 GMT 1, if your in NYC best answer is to buy one form amazon and get them to sign it at the show. on sale for 50 shipped.
that said i am limited edition all the way. 300 for an edition of 100 on wood seems like a bargain.

Hello everyone,
Hope this finds you well. Itโs getting a little cooler here in NYC. The trees are changing color, the turtlenecks are coming out, the perfect time of year to curl up with a nice book. And just in time for such an occasion we are happy to be releasing the new FAILE: Works on Wood: Process, Paintings and Sculpture book today!
Tuesday October 21st at Noon (NYC time) via store.faile.net/
We will be releasing a few versions of the new book:
The signed Studio Copy features the FAILE World and Studio Edition stamp and comes signed FAILE 1986.
FAILE: Works on Wood Signed Studio Copy 9.5x12in (24โรโ30โcm) Full color, hardcover, 320 pages $68.00
The NYC Special Edition Wood Book Sleeve is a hand-painted and silkscreened gem. It's like a hug from FAILE for your new book forever. The Works on Wood book comes signed FAILE 1986 with a special NYC WoW stamp and edition number.

Berlin Special Edition Wood Sleeve and signed FAILE: Works on Wood Book Acrylic, Spraypaint and Silkscreen Ink on Wood Edition of 100 Size: 10x12.5x1.75 inches
*Please note on shipping. This is a large and heavy book so shipping is a little higher especially on international orders. All orders will be shipped via FedEx โ this was the best rate we could find so please be understanding.
We're also excited to be opening a new show / book release to celebrate Works on Wood. Part new works and part retrospective works the show will feature many of the elements that are FAILE: Works on Wood. The show will open November 15th โ December 15th here in NYC at Allouche Gallery. We will also release two new prints from the new book that will be available next month at the show and through the FAILE shop. More to come on this...
Our sincere thanks to everyone for all the support over the years and a special thank you to Gestalten for publishing the book.
Best, Faile

Faile - Works on Wood book, by Hairbland on Oct 21, 2014 13:25:22 GMT 1, I have to score my first Faile piece before I can grab a book lol That's funny, because the question is....is this a Faile piece, or a book? If it's a signed edition with spray paint and silkscreen it could be a Faile piece...but how does one display it? It would need to be out on a table all the time...in a book shelf what's the point? I have tons of monographs, looking at a small stack near my computer now Penny / RAE / Nancy Spero / Banksy Sothebys which look great but other than top book all you see are spines.
To read and use the book as meant the Amazon deal and then going to the gallery to get it signed seems to make most sense. And then maybe one gets a print. From an investment point of view these type of book enhancements historically don't seem to appreciate as the art does.
Last night I was like "I'm getting one." Now I seem to be talking myself out of one. My son (turning 10) went to both the Faile and JR ballets, has met KAWS, Marcel Dzama and a few others and would likely dig meeting Faile at the NYC show. That might be the more coveted option for me.
But the Faile business plan is brilliant, they must have taken some business and marketing classes at college. The savvy release of product priced correctly and staggered as to format is keeping them near the top of most lists.

Extra $18 over Amazon price gets the studio stamp and being able to attend opening without trying to get book signed.

Faile - Works on Wood book, by Deleted on Oct 21, 2014 15:02:13 GMT 1, Ok maybe a dumb question.. But the photos are a bit confusing on Faile's site.
Is the back of the Sinful Pleasures (NY) release the one with Dreams and Heartbreak? At first I thought it was the Berlin edition but their site shows a different back.
