The Connor Brothers ๐ฌ๐ง Mike Snelle & James Golding, by nipper on Jul 29, 2020 23:13:12 GMT 1, Does any of the money go to the actual artists whose work was appropriated? I'll wait until they're approaching their expiry date and are about ยฃ3/can.
I havenโt checked in this but do you know that it was? If so, maybe not buy it.
Iโll duck back out.

The Connor Brothers ๐ฌ๐ง Mike Snelle & James Golding, by churchwood on Jul 30, 2020 8:55:52 GMT 1, was down that way last year - there is a gallery - cannot remember the name that had a load of Connor Brothers stuff in the window and I don't think it was very far to the brewery from there so I guess this could be the link perhaps?

The Connor Brothers ๐ฌ๐ง Mike Snelle & James Golding, by Poster Bob on Jul 30, 2020 9:44:51 GMT 1, I feel that they support the charity in order be above reproach. It's a wise tactic to get around the unsanctioned and uncompensated use of intellectual property and failings of their previous business. Social media is a cesspool as we all know, but a horde of fans will harass you on Instagram, question your virtue, and ask what your contribution to charity is should you dare question The Connor Brothers practices and previous dealings.
I would encourage anyone to compare their tactic to fraudsters on Ebay should anyone question my point. How many times have you seen fake and backdoor prints for sale that gave a percentage to charity in a failed attempt at integrity? Supporting charities has diverted attention away from the activities of certain people in the past, including Jimmy Saville.

From the R.A. Maguire cover art website.
"We have shut down our tribute to Mr. Maguire due to the proliferation of art "appropriation"; otherwise known as IP theft. We wish to particularly thank The Connor Brothers for their masterful manipulation of social media and for taking as**t on the legacy of my father and other great book illustrators of his era."

The Connor Brothers ๐ฌ๐ง Mike Snelle & James Golding, by Big Bad Mo on Aug 1, 2020 0:41:59 GMT 1, I figure if Harland Miller can demand the prices he does for penguin covers with meaningless statements, then there is plenty of room for the connor brothers. I genuinely think itโs all really nice pub art. I do think itโs interesting that more people seem to be offended by the connor brothers, but accept huge values in millers works. Itโs possibly a reflection of peopleโs collections or my lack of connoisseurship. Or both. Or something else. Either way they are all shit so its funny (unless you have a pub and they will fit right in and you can have yourself a highly appreciating asset).
