Chris Moukarbel's Banksy Does New York documentary about the artist's street art residency in New York City last year will still air on HBO on Nov. 17 (details here), but those who attend this year's DOC NYC Festival will have a chance to see the film a few days earlier.
DOC NYC, the country's largest documentary film festival, announced their line-up in a press release today. The festival begins on Nov. 13 and will last through Nov. 20 with screenings at the IFC Center, SVA Theatre, and Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas. The full schedule includes 153 films and events, including 92 features, 37 shorts and 24 panel discussions and masterclasses. Banksy Does New York will be shown on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the SVA Theatre.
"Chris Moukarbel tracks the course of Banksy’s secretly created public works from the Lower East Side to Staten Island, Williamsburg to Willets Point, and explores the unprecedented speed of the public’s reaction," reads the event page. Tickets to see the 75-minute-long film are on sale now, but space is limited so you should act fast if you want to see it before everyone else.
Other films on the packed schedule include Finding Vivian Maier, Font Men, Becoming Billy Name, and I Am Big Bird. To see the full line-up, head to the DOC NYC site.
