There has been a drop in the market, correct... this is bound to happen when an artist who has a grand total of 2425 prints in circulation pretty much DOUBLES this overnight.
This makes a massive difference. The Micallef market cannot be judged until the dust has settled from the massive releases. They will come back up, creeping at first... you can see this already... an impure idols set went for over cost on 29th January... the first for a while...

Since when secondary market is following primary one and LAZ prices?
Girl in the red dress is the holy grail of Micallef's print.
None, or very few, have appeared to the open market and with no doubt will hit far more than the lame 21st CL (I am a huge Micallef Fan but dont like this print).
If that hit the bay it will outtake the past 21cL record easily me think.
Will find out soon enough.
I will spend 10k on other things tho...

Hate to do this but I think the last 21stCL on ebay was 130186606100, I was watching it, and it made 3.9k which was below it's reserve. On the other hand it closed on 6th Jan which is a terrible time to try and sell a high value print on ebay.

I feel its a bit sad the nay sayers ( most likly the ones who got burnt buying to sell) feel such a need to decry micallef, its almost like they have been personally let down by the man...

Fair enough as everyone is entitled to their opinion I am in no position to argue, I would disagree with the freefall statment, they did drop, but that looks to me to have stopped and started climbing again, from what I have seen of the thread ( been dipping in and out through the day) people sited the scarcness of the GIRD print and likened it to a 21st C love as a guide, hence the 21st C comparisons going on, which I feel is a tad unfair as one hasn't sold for so long, with some forum members claiming it is a 3.5K max print now, which has already shown to be wrong. Looking at the estimates given for the GIRD, and the established fans ( rather than the newer, less optomistic ( not the right term but you get the idea) fans) desire for this print, I tend to go with the 7-9K estimates that others gave. As I started with we are all entitled to an opionion, you might not agree with it, and I can see where you were coming from regarding the last few months of micallef sales, but firmly believe that is already changing. |
