DFace Hate, by gbh on Aug 7, 2008 6:40:10 GMT 1, agreed...sort of.. It is a great idea, I just think the "HATE" version is a better evolution (tip of the hat to whoever it was that came up with it in the first place).
I don't necessarily like the original LOVE, but it do like HATE because of it's piss take on LOVE.

DFace Hate, by paulypaul on Aug 7, 2008 9:47:09 GMT 1, I love 'LOVE'. Have been toying with getting an Indiana print for a couple of years. It's one of the reasons why I didn't by the D*Face Hate when it was originally released - so full of negativity when the original had so much hope....
Now I have a Love/Hate pair by Eine...

That doesn't make sense. What are you trying to say, that D*Face couldn't have stolen the idea because it was first produced before he was born!
There can be no HATE without LOVE.

DFace Hate, by Deleted on Aug 7, 2008 11:31:53 GMT 1, I saw the Indiana Love piece recently at Phillips De Pury, nice. In yet another failed attempt at humour i asked Ellen who was walking around with me ( obviously thought i was so old i might die soon) " is it DFace"?, she just said "No, Indiana" v sweet of her i thought.

DFace Hate, by Prescription Art on Aug 7, 2008 12:14:11 GMT 1, It seems to me that people sometimes miss the point with D*Face, which is that he defaces works by other artists with his own twist. The clue's in the name!
Hence he's produced his own versions of Warhol, Indiana, Tretchikoff, Basquiat etc etc.
I'm expecting a Jeff Koons balloon dog with tongue & wings at some point....
I can't say I like everything he does at all.... but that's his 'concept' i guess.

DFace Hate, by spencerlee on Aug 7, 2008 12:40:06 GMT 1, Throughout history do artists not borrow/take inspiration from other artists work??
Yes, but what has happened in here in the past the is following.
A is a seminal piece of art from decades ago that most people, let alone people with an interest in art are familar with.
B copies A C also copies A at a later date.
Someone comes on here indignant that C has ripped of B. Major lollage ensues.
