Don't know whether there was inspiration / influence or if it's just coincidental, but Borondo's work does indeed have stylistic similarities with Alex Kanevsky.

My wife hates it but whats she know? Lot more about a lot of things I suspect than I do, but I have to say its a good choice, but as Dice mentioned not with some poxy border.

'Identity' was the most reminiscent of his style so far, IMO, but even that one I had problems with due to the screenprinting method (the non-handfinished parts seemed a little low quality)

Couldn't disagree more.
This is classic Borondo and a theme and style that can be seen in the majority of his street pieces.
