I was in the first 25, and having stood there for an entire day chatting to the queue i had the feeling that those in the front section with me, buying, were actually collectors. We talked art alot. Shows how wrong i could be!

Gonzalo Borondo πͺπ¦ Spanish Glass Artist β’ Street Art, by eschiff on Feb 6, 2015 15:56:03 GMT 1, just popped in and was very impressed. The large space essentially acted as separate exhibition spaces, which is why the pdf may have looked so disjointed but as a show worked really well. The varity of materials he used is pretty remarkable and the glass pieces with the slide projector behind them really make them come to life. It's haunting. Great job by him and the gallery.
Edit - I am curious which of the work in the collaborations was done by him. I'm not as familiar with the other artists he collaborated with though picked up Carmen Main's card while i was there - www.carmenmain.com if anyone is interested in seeing her work.

Gonzalo Borondo πͺπ¦ Spanish Glass Artist β’ Street Art, by Feral Things on Feb 6, 2015 18:07:11 GMT 1, Here's a few more pieces that I don't think have been posted on here yet (apologies if they have!). It was great to see an exhibition which was both very diverse and which also worked as a single body of work. It was great to see so many good people out last night, even if it was only briefly.

Gonzalo Borondo πͺπ¦ Spanish Glass Artist β’ Street Art, by Feral Things on Feb 6, 2015 18:40:28 GMT 1, that animation is crazy.Β was it being projected? Yep, this was projected onto a wall at a scale so that the figure was roughly life-sized. There was also an exactly life-sized moving women in a cage but I think security would have thrown me out if I'd photographed her.

Gonzalo Borondo πͺπ¦ Spanish Glass Artist β’ Street Art, by mutatis on Feb 6, 2015 19:27:52 GMT 1, One of the busiest opening nights I have been to in a long time. I left around 8.30 and people were still queuing to get in. So clearly it was not all about the free prints or the print on sale. As for the turnout, it was a very mixed crowd and I am not sure why it should matter (senility perhaps) but it was refreshing to see a lot of young/er people and our continental European friends, particularly the Spanish, Italians and French were out in force to support the artist.
The actual show should have been a journey through the various different spaces but the sheer numbers of people didnβt allow for this orderly progression. That will require another trip when it is less busy. Undeniably the set-up and the various spaces were well curated (but could have been a tad larger). The use of light on the window frames with images on the front and back, whilst simple, was visually stunning and effective. Particularly impressive and thought-provoking were the projected animation of the woman prowling around (on a loop) on all fours inside a cage and the bird sculptures. I know some parts of the show were collaborations, but Borondo clearly demonstrates that he is a multi-talented artist with plenty to say and numerous ways to express his thoughts. I would have thought about the show some more but the cheese consumed later on at Dranβs show, played havoc with my mind late last night β¦.

Plenty of banter in the queue especially londonboy and the local crackhead near opening time. Only disappointment I forgot my chair when I left, got to blame the beer for that.

Gonzalo Borondo πͺπ¦ Spanish Glass Artist β’ Street Art, by SW20 on Feb 6, 2015 20:33:35 GMT 1, Thought it was a great show. Regardless of whether you loved the work or not it was really put together well and reflected the artists views. But must say I personally did enjoy a lot of the work but as mentioned thought the whole concept was really nicely put together and worked really well. Loved the glass pieces with the slides not sure they will work so well for people who bought but stunning pieces
