Personally, I'm less bothered about the derivative style or vacuous subject matter as I am about the fact that Bambi appears to be metaphorically packaging up and selling on the scene that many of us love. Graffiti and street art are important parts of who people are; it's a source of beauty and inspiration, it's the mischief we got up to with mates late at night and it's a frame through which we view the world. So I think it's natural that people don't want graffiti and street art to have the same fate as other subcultures like the punk and grunge scenes which have been partially killed off by watered-down and highly-marketed bands sucking up all the oxygen. One of the appeals of graffiti and street art are that they're more of a democracy and meritocracy than other areas of life. So when someone usurps that with a paid for PR team and takes the focus away from writers and artists who have earnt their stripes it's bound to irk people. I'm not suggesting for one minute that the rest of the scene is some kind of utopian fantasy but, for many, Bambi represents the more extreme example of this so I'm guessing that's why he or she has become the focus of people's dislike.
