I've no doubt that Bambi has sold things, it just depends on whether you would consider it a successful venture and what you're basing that on. If it's just based on column inches and blog hits, then fantastic. If they're looking to make a career out of this, then they might need a bit more than that.
But, BUT, I don't think they're too worried about relying on Bambi sales. Other pies, other irons, other things and all that. Since when has artists and their Art become all about sales. Such a shame...

From the way team Bambi hyped the very living essence out of their creation, I don't think artistic integrity was what they had in mind. So, that leads one to believe that financial success was the order of the day. Have they achieved that? Again, depends on what they had in mind. They've sold some, given some away, perhaps pawned some. Is it enough for them? We'll see.
The rest of us just go with what we can see with our eyes, hear with our ears, lick with our tongues.

If it's making great art that affects people (in a good way), then fine. If it's a bit of both, fine. But it's up to them to know what they're looking for in all this and whether the print sales, celebrity canvas giveaways, or opinions of people on forums matter to what they're doing. There's a historical difference between craft and art.
I would think someone knowing thousands of years worth of 'art' knowledge would know this.

And you'll notice the forum response is almost uniformly negative. Heck, even on an MBW thread there will be a couple people who defend that image, or the fact that he's a nice guy, something. I have yet to see anyone but you defend her and her work, let alone with the tenacity that you do. Which leads to the assumption that you have to be somehow connected to her or her PR team. Otherwise, WHY would you expend so much energy defending an artist you admit you do not own and claim to not be affiliated with.
It's odd that you are so insistent to the point of clearly promoting her, and yet act as if there's no reason why some random person on an art forum would be trying so hard to promote an artist (it's called viral marketing, I'm sure the PR team is on it). If the artist is any good, he or she won't need the help of random keyboard warriors. If you like Bambi's art, that's fantastic, you should buy some.

i have art that I have on the wall that is absolute shit, so shit in fact its brilliant in its shitness, but drink makes me buy it, and I can only see the brilliance of it return when i have consumed copious amounts, am lying on the hallway floor, staring upwards trying to focus, whilst preparing for the stair challenge
