I think its was on "friends" they said theres no such thing as a truly good deed because when you do a good deed you in turn make yourself feel good but better that than no good deed at all? Perhaps if giveaways where used to help those in need more it would be an ideal solution. Happy christmas Ps ignore everything i say unless its a good one

Less Likes / less lists , by .dappy on Dec 26, 2014 1:00:40 GMT 1, ... Happy Christmas to you too badrobot ... 'lists' only really affects those who only read the forum by looking at 'New Posts' where by its nature the lists flood it ... try looking up 'Active Threads' - its a lot easier, stays current within the first two pages ... and you can read only those Threads that you really want to without trouble ...
... maybe you don't like the Threads but other people do by their popularity ...
I know that you also do not like 'show us you latest art buy/pad as you believe that people are showing off and maybe they are (there are worse crimes) but those threads also give people good ideas to members about what a piece dose actually look like and in different settings.
... people help other people in different ways by their deeds and actions and giving to charity in their own way ... do we really need a race to who can raise the most amount 'for charity' through the 'sale' of a piece of artwork?
... absolutely no disrespect to Andy and the raffle for the Banksy Flag which was for a great cause ... but let people do what they want
I hope that 2015 brings comfort and happiness in their own ways to all.

Read what I've f**king written before responding, tell me who you're little self congratulatory thread is helping ? Because it sure ain't anyone who needs it.
And it's not pointed at you, it's poibted at all the members who have giveaways, all the galleries who have giveaways
Let's just be more altruistic

In Swedish it's called "kickers" f**k ups with buffalo shoes or those cheap flat Chinese shoes from pound shops. That are just waiting for some action. Let's! f**k likes, f**k charity f**k dignity, just let us all be our own small selfs that get kicks out of nonchalance? Common just for fun Farage's.

Less Likes / less lists , by dashboll on Dec 26, 2014 9:07:01 GMT 1, Read what I've f**king written before responding, tell me who you're little self congratulatory thread is helping ? erm, I think that's a little harsh, I really like the giveaways, as a newbie it's been showing me things I wouldn't have seen otherwise and also adds to the community feel of the forum. I dont think getting likes is gonna get you into heaven, but it does stop the new posts thread getting clogged instead of using lists. Haven't personally seen anyone else do it with likes before, I think it's a good idea.
As for charity, whilst I'm all for giving I dont think you can categorise what you might want to give away as to what should or shouldn't be sold for a charity. If the post was a giveaway of a kettle then fair enough thats a thread clogger, but this is a street art forum, if someone wants to give away some street art then this is the perfect place imo.
And we're not all super rich, for some members a giveaway might be the only chance ever of owning something original.
Right, I'll shut the fuck up now, just my opinion for what it's worth

Well said D - this is an art forum. I come on here to look at nice pictures, find out about releases and sometimes have a laugh - sometimes that might involve something charitable like Andy's excellent Flag competition. I like the show us your latest... threads as I get to see the real art rather than the promotional shots.
I don't come on here to:
1. Save the world 2. Salve my conscience
I do both these things on other forums
And as for all the bitching and moaning about lists and likes - really? Is it really that bad to have to scroll through.
Time to get a grip and go back to looking at some nice pictures.
Happy Christmas. E

Less Likes / less lists , by SW20 on Dec 26, 2014 19:55:20 GMT 1, most charities run like businesses these days. pay decent salaries to fund raisers etc. quite corporate very few real ones left.
One must also consider that charities also deflect government responsibilities.
so one does have to question does a daft thread justify replacing a daft list.
this is an art forum so giving some art to daft people who love art works for me. if you do a freebie no money is gained anyway.
the flippers and sellers for a profit I doubt are giving to anything but their back pocket....such is life but many sell to fund their art so good luck to those.
I reckon a fair few on here do the charity thing and therefore have very little need to hike a print to promote it and those that do.good on them. Eel did a good one and Castles was mega so hats off.
maybe bad robot should stop shouting an set an example!
sorry if I am wrong but looked through your threads saw sales but no charity causes nor give aways so just wondered
