Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by rustyb on Dec 27, 2007 23:16:06 GMT 1, I take it they're not up now? I believe there were threads re this seller previously and the general feeling was they were moody as the colour seemed off. I don't have one myself so I can't say either way
i clicked on them earlier, at the same time as refreshing an eBay page, accidentally refreshed the aucsab page and it said i was buying them. I clicked end transaction to get out, and they were gone, is this a glitch in the dynamics of the site? or had you noticed they were dodgy before hand?
there will be alot of trouble with these things from now on, seems best to stay clear of them

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by wazandy on Dec 29, 2007 5:14:07 GMT 1, Put it this way, the same guy's been selling the same 'three pairs' for over a month, and he's sold quite a few of them - on at least three different websites.
Avoid like the plague.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by snakes on Dec 31, 2007 0:50:48 GMT 1, Stay well clear unless they are in a big print sized sheet with a POW stamp on the bottom.
I would question the authenticity of most on ebay as these are very simple to make fakes of!

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by markrobbo on Jan 17, 2008 15:03:34 GMT 1, I am looking to buy and was looking for a steer on value.
The seller has told me he has the original receipt but I haven't seen it. Based on provenance being kosher what value would you say? £150 - £200?

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by mattheww2 on Feb 11, 2008 14:49:39 GMT 1, My first ever Banksy purchase 2 x these tenners from the 'profpixel' who gets everywhere and changes his name now and then on ebay. Wasn't reading the board at the time so bought them and then read the warnings! whoops...
However real or fake, they look very good shown as a pair in one of those muji clear frames (can post the pic if anyone wants), and surely that is the main thing! (unless I want to sell them and then it all gets complicated)
Not sure how you would get provenance, especially for the notting hill carnival ones (other than the faint smell of wee as mentioned in an old thread).

Not ment in a bad way mat, how much did you spend? as if they were fake, it may have been a heck of alot of money for 2 photocoppies. They may look good, but I saw some going from the same seller for £200+, which to me personally, is too much for something which is most likely fake. As Ronhill said, they are best to steer clear from unless they are from someone with a good rep and a decent history ( apart from the ones that were bought and come with receipts, these are virtually un provable by the general buying public). Just my take on it and realise others have their own opionions on this type of thing.

ahem... £220 for the two
have come to terms with the potential authenticity (or lack of) one of those you live and learn type experiences... since I'd pay that for a picture that I liked, that I would never be able to resell... just don't plan to repeat the experience

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by JonW on Feb 12, 2008 12:22:26 GMT 1, I had POW look at mine (bought off ebay for sensible money the week after SG04) and compared it to one they had knocking about (it was early 05)... like everyone says... its way to easy to fake these... shame really as they frame up nice with a real £10 note...

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by leumasdarnley on Feb 18, 2008 15:00:40 GMT 1, As it is common knowledge these days Banksy Tenners are almost impossible to verify unless bought directly from Laz. What do you guys make of this one sig looks pretty legit although doesn't have a year on the end which could be fine but has anyone heard of Banksy just mailing these out? He has a envelope from Laz and its bid up to over 3k seems a little steep... input?
