Well it does when people were talking 12K for a Baby or try to sell for 9.5K (Ebay). I bought some Stik pieces a while back because I liked them, had seen his work on the street etc and it's great to see his contribution to a good cause. I've had some brief interactions with him and he's always struck me as being a solid guy which is always another appeal. I am however tired of people always trying to big up the prices based on auctions that attract the more non discerning cash rich buyers. The reason Phillips for example are turning Stiks away is because they can't shift the supply at the prices that they have recently attained, which in the long term is bad for their profit margin - keep supply tight in the auction market to maintain the prices. The cash rich buyers can't be bothered with real enthusiasts or being members of forums like this where pieces change hands at more reasonable levels. In my humble opinion, the recent result prices a Baby at around 5K....still not a bad return for standing in line and shelling out 500 quid or in fact buying on Ebay at 3K a few weeks ago. Stik is for the people, its what he represents. Lets keep it that way and ignore the speculators! |
