Can't believe that can actually happen even with stick art. Thank you for sharing.

Also. I don't like that there hasn't been consecutive posts not relating to money so I'll fill it in. I predict next year Stik will eat banksy and we will be paying double!

Resurfacing this discussion, I was luck enough to meet STIK and he explained how he refined the eyes from round to oval to give him more to work with. The tilt of the oval eyes giving position to the head and having more axis to work with (at this stage repositions his head an eys in multiple ways). Quite frankly the man is a genius who stuck at something when everyone else said, "I can do that" he showed them he could do it better...GENIUS

Looking back he has definitely sharpened the images. How the image can change so much by just altering one of the six lines.

Some may find them simple.. But i love the liberty work, it makes me smile! Maybe one day!

Wow A basic image that works well with a plain uncluttered background . Can possibly see custom interior designers buying for their clients but the geniune Stik market that has supported this artist has definitely shrunk , nhs posters are averaging ยฃ90 and book posters are prob the only option now unless you have ยฃ2k min to spend .
Hope people don't get caught out spending lots on the next big artist like michillief , Dan Baldwin, Nick walker , spqr buyers etc
Once he has international shows and collectors greater than the uk can possibly see the high numbers quoted for pieces for now celebritie uk market ;-)

The difference between the artists you mentioned and Stik, is that Stik already has mainstream appeal far beyond the niche world of online forums and collectors on here. This is illustrated by his book being a best selling art book. He's also had a sell out show in New York and many other achievements that the likes of SPQR (much as I like him) have not managed.

I think that was the point being made, that it's remarkable in a style with so few elements that it is still possible to see an evolution.
But looking back, yeah, the line weights were a bit out of proportion for certain pieces, the eyes weren't always great - it goes to show that as simple as the style is (and people moaning that anyone could do it) there is a craft and an art to getting the figures to look good.
(BTW I own no pieces by Stik)

Reading back agree with a fellow poster early pieces were done illegally and probably at night so done hastily where as now they are painted legally with lots of time to draw out rough guide line first on a nice sunny day :-(
