Are these renaissance inspired artworks actual oïl paintings or collagy resin paste ups mish mashes with a bit of painty wainty?

That's the orginal piece i bought that is coming to live with me (for 6 months anyway) next weekend.
I've only heard good things about him regarding commissions, so would be very surprised if he was the dodgy artist in the thread mentioned

I'd say a third if his last show was made up of astronauts.

Is this whole "Jason Seife is a con artist" thing purely based on a couple of winks and someone not wanting to pay upfront for a commission, or does it have more substance?
Seems to me to only be the above bits, which seems more than a little unfair, tbh.

Thanks for you feedback! It's tough with cosmonauts as Jeremy truly is the king of them, they're based off the same source imagery which is a retro Russian cosmonaut suit, both, the crucified poses of them has a deeper meaning which ties in the theme of the show, feel free to DM if you'd like some more background on the pieces or any questions. I did read it and believe him I also love the piece can only imagine how good it is in reality but I just expressed my opinion which is that the comparisons of where the straps are the way the 'drapery' sits is uncanny with what you see when you mirror Geddes's one is all...

I think some of his pieces are excellent by the way, the Renaissance stuff in particular.

I think that may have rather been jack Crossing actually.

I dont see how people could really keep defending this artist or appreciate this artist if you look at his work its clear as day to see he did not evolve either of the styles mentioned, the old masters or the astronauts. His design work is basic and his paintings are even worse, I was very surprised LAZ didnt see this as well knowing the quality of work they have experience with. From the internet everything looks great not saying his paintings dont but its very clear that he is design heavy and copied a couple artists who he has been called out on. I will say I have a clear Bias and did confront the artist in past threads but I let it go to see if he would progress as a normal artist is supposed to after copying others and that remains to be seen. In the end I personally always look for history in an artist to see his progression where these works came from in prior work and the red flag was it wasnt there. Hope the best for those that bought into his work and if he does paint these then maybe that talent will find something authentic down the road. We all have things to learn its just a shame that the internet hypes artists so fast before doing some basic research.

where is the artist to defend himself? didn't he use to post here regularly promoting himself? I or my manager would be on this case if these false accusations are being tossed around a forum where most of my collectors hang out or lurk.
