What kind of fresh hell is this? 3k almost seems fishy to me. Daniel trying to manipulate his own market haha It has to be something like that. Curiously there are multiple that sold in that range so not just a one off. With plenty available for half that (still absurd) the $3k sales canβt be real. Iβm genuinely shocked that these are moving on the bay for $1500+ though. I feel like Arsham has already become a gimmick to anyone who is actually considered a real collector. Whatever though, heβs printing money for the time being and people are buying so good for him. Very short term thinking though.

Daniel Arsham πΊπΈ New York β’ Eroded Future Relic, by Poster Bob on Apr 6, 2019 22:09:48 GMT 1, The fluctuation in price is bizarre. Normally, inconsistencies in auction prices are due to international vs. continental US sales. Frequently, very few sellers are willing to take on the risks of both damage and fraud by sending expensive works abroad. It can be very profitable to be one of the only ones willing to send something to a foreign locale. This train of thought is inconsistent with the closed auction prices.

It can be very profitable to be one of the only ones willing to send something to a foreign locale. This train of thought is inconsistent with the closed auction prices. How is the fluctuation in price bizarre? Location of the item's seller has little, if nothing to do with it in this case. The edition size is 500. Not all were sold on his site. He kept some for his archives, I am sure he gave some away to "friends" and some went to the galleries that rep him. So guessing less than 400 were put online. Arsham has his dedicated collectors, add the flippers to that mix. And like most all of his pieces. it sold out in moments. Which immediately drives the secondary market up about 10-20% on avg. upon release. Add to that the Yankee's diverse appeal (sports, hip-hop, NYC, etc). Once the the word got out about this piece, you can easily explain the bump in market prices. Simple supply and demand. Now, will that bump be sustained? That is another question. But figure Gucci sells an OE wool Yankee's hat for $550.00, so there is that for those who missed the release and really want an expensive Yankee hat.

Well, first off perhaps, you could learn to spell things before you call someone dumb. And then try to back it up with some sort of logic (flawed or not) But then again you think your opinion matters. Can you believe that people actually buy things you don't like? I know, I can hardly believe it myself. The nerve of people buying what they like! Did you buy one? attempt to buy one? Guessing Not, so why don't you sit down and shut-up? Why are you even concerned about an unregulated market? Oh yeah, it is because you are self important. Just in case you are wondering, the art market exists without you and so could this thread and forum.

Daniel Arsham πΊπΈ New York β’ Eroded Future Relic, by kuni on Apr 8, 2019 20:19:29 GMT 1, Lol between the live listings and the sold listings (just on the US ebay) I counted ~75 of these hats. Probably another 30 in the UK. Within one week of the release and people haven't even received them yet. There may be a handful of people that bought this because they LOVE the art, but those people are few and far between. The majority bought it to either flip now or flip later.

Daniel Arsham πΊπΈ New York β’ Eroded Future Relic, by nughound on Apr 17, 2019 1:38:57 GMT 1, anyone else get theirs in hand yet? thoughts/ impressions (of those who own the piece) personally, I like the way the piece came out. I think the hat feels pretty substantial (heavy and not made of cheap plastic). the textures from the wool hat are readily apparent in the casting. the packaging is well designed and protects the artwork well. Overall, I am happy to add it to my collection. curious if others agree. will post some pics as soon as the display arrives if folks are interested in seeing it.
