So a board member posts in the "art for sale" section about a print he might want to sell, even though he's not 100% sure about selling it-- depending on how much he can get. Could you imagine if retailers worked like this?
I've considered creating a thread about it, but wasn't sure how it'd be received, especially as a noob. But the sales practices on Banksyforum is abhorring. I come from other forums where (1) sales without a stated price, (2) solicitation of best offer to pit forum members against forum members, (3) and non-commital sales like this are highly frowned upon and actively discouraged.
Art galleries give you a price, even auction houses give you an estimated range (they don't set price, the bids do). Can you imagine selling a home or a car or anything else this way? I dunno...give me an offer and maybe I'll sell it and maybe I won't. Meanwhile this is all too common around here.

Secondly, I really love the Invader Scream, but the price is too rich for my current appetite for Invader paper work (his core work is tiles and Rubik). therefore - for me it has such a high value; especially when it is accompanied by the Hypnosis!

The only that " moved " - now it's finished - a little, was Hypnosis.
Laz and co were great with me and mailed me because I had mailed them during the sale, and kept me one and he sold it to me ( I was so happy , best Invader pieces from far ) .
But never, I say never, I saw this Scream.

I can tell you, I have hesitated a lot when I ve bought this one : it is true that The scream is more famous and is emblematic , but I like ( in the characters, composition, as an all poker-work from last centuries ) Hypnosis better. It's really a great one in flesh.
Surprised Laz hasn't increased the price of the Scream... Been at that for some time now. He can't , it would not be fair with Invader or the buyers : it would mean that one print was better than the other ; or they are as good but The Scream from Munch is a " mythic " artwork : you can find it in all the waiting rooms ( or as book's covers ) of the Psychiatric, psychanalysts, doctors, sexologs, police, school cantee,s, cake boxes etc... As Mona Lisa a bit...
