It’s probably fools’ work trying to guess what inspires someone else, let alone doing so about a reclusive artist on a public forum who is much cherished here. But I’ve done much more foolish things, so… here goes nothing.
My sense is Banksy is much more intelligent and well read that most would assume. I picture him a voracious consumer of literature and social-political media, and drawing inspiration from all of that. And I’m guessing he also likes a good laugh, and finds inspiration in those who are funny, clever and smart.
What do you think inspires him, according to his work?

The anger, threats & aggressiveness towards forum members & staff members has been disheartening.
As an active forum member I have been extremely frustrated with the lack of art actually being posted
and the emphasis on money. I scrolled down 3 pages from "Recent Posts" yesterday and only 1 picture of actual art was posted. One very bright spot that I have noticed recently is that the "Amateur Thread" featuring newbie forum artists is amazing and truly captures the true spirit of what this place was and what it can become again. Total strangers helping one another with technique tips and positive comments about each others work. You actually get a sense of community from the thread with very little mention of money.
