Original BANKSY Gangsta Rat (HandicapGangsta) on Street Sign, by Deleted on Jan 23, 2015 23:47:57 GMT 1, Isn't it a strange world? You have a Rolf Harris painting. Worth a bit. He gets convicted for the sexual abuse of a minor. Value of painting goes down. You have a painting by Walter Sickert. Some theorise that he brutally murdered several women. Value of painting increases? Funny thing i went to a walter sickert exhibition in a museum, id heard of the link to the ripper and the first thing i did was ask one of the curators "wheres the paintings by the supposed jack the ripper", he replied "what?", i replied "you know, the artist who might have been the ripper, walter sickert" he said "dunno, sickert exhibitions in there". Anyway it was fascinating looking at the works with the ripper link in mind, sickert certainly seemed drawn to the overweight (in todays terms) and somewhat less attractive ladies, although they could have been attractive and he painted them unattractively. There was one particular painting which grabbed my attention most of a lady on a park bench and an unsavourly gentleman looking on from a distance conspiciously. Overall a talented artist if not somewhat morbid. Not the sort of paintings youd want hanging in your bedroom to be the first thing you see in the morning!

Original BANKSY Gangsta Rat (HandicapGangsta) on Street Sign, by Rouen Cathedral on Jan 24, 2015 0:20:43 GMT 1, Why would anyone steal a handicapped parking sign?
Better question is who would paint over a handi cap sign. How rude!

Original BANKSY Gangsta Rat (HandicapGangsta) on Street Sign, by wishingiwaslucky on Jan 24, 2015 12:32:07 GMT 1, What poor quality too? Hard to imagine all that tough blue enamelled paint that was on the sign has somehow been out lived by some Banksy stencil, what a preservation genius Banksy is, maybe he doesn't get the credit he deserves for his long lasting designs.

Yeah or he painted it on an older sign. I am pretty sure Banksy is not driving around with paint and stencil in hand looking for the "newest" signs or walls to vandalize. He see's and takes his opportunities when they present themselves not wanting to be either seen or caught. In the case of this piece which is clearly several years old, he was a bit less "Banksy" famous an so had not as many people offering up the sides of their homes or businesses for him to grafitti. He grafittied an older sign.....

My point is, that sign should never be on a street as it's not even a valid sign.....I'm sure it took ages to find one that was not in a worthy state, he must be a gentleman not to stencil on a real sign.....

Original BANKSY Gangsta Rat (HandicapGangsta) on Street Sign, by wishingiwaslucky on Jan 24, 2015 20:38:01 GMT 1, It's more use if it's painted blue, I could use that to get a parking space, why didn't I think of that before instead of thinking dodgy art...

Original BANKSY Gangsta Rat (HandicapGangsta) on Street Sign, by Deleted on Jan 24, 2015 20:53:07 GMT 1, Probably a commission from an elderly Banksy-fan. Thing is, I have learned that most sign pieces are fake.. But this just smells Banksy. But in all fairness, the stencil does looks good. Placement is a bit off imo.
