Banksy Advice, by Greekboy on Feb 9, 2008 17:13:28 GMT 1, Just a question for some of the more experienced members. I'm lookin at adding a Banksy to my collection and have decided on either Queen Victoria or Napalm. What would you think is a fair price for these pieces. Unsigned versions of course.
My main concern is talk of back door prints. Were either of these ever suspect of being suspicious. Also, what do you think chances of buying a fake stamped print on ebay are. I find that most ebay sellers are rather uncommunicative when asked questions about provenance and whether they are the original owner or not.
Thanks

Banksy Advice, by manchestermike on Feb 9, 2008 17:23:47 GMT 1, I'd take Queen Vic every day. Just think the colour prints look better for a start, add that to I think Napalm is the worst Banksy print (quality wise not subject) I have seen, plus I wouldn't want the Napalm image on my wall

A Napalm should be around about 1k and Queen Vic 1200 - 1500, although there is a bit of alles uber variations at the moment.
There's always a chance of a fake, so make sure you have arse tight prov.
Good luck, they're both magnificent images, but as Mike said Napalm isn't chick friendly.

With regard to 'backdoor' prints, there have never been any 'backdoor' Napalms since it was printed by POW themselves after they moved the printing in house.
I've not seen many suspicious Queen Vics myself, but I guess backdoor versions are possible.
They're both stone cold classic Banksys, so you can't go far wrong with either IMO.
I've got unsigned versions of both on sale btw

I didnt think either were really chick friendly (suppose depend on the type of chicks) although Vic is IMO the better of the 2.
There are some backdoor Vics floating about as there was one on ebay towards the end of last year.

The prices on my site are lower than from any other gallery. I'm also a far more reliable place to buy than ebay, and if you feel the prices i'm charging are unreasonable i'll happily listen to offers.

Banksy Advice, by funyoung on Feb 10, 2008 19:52:28 GMT 1, The prices could be worse. Though I'm struggling to get the ยฃ2250 I need for your flower thrower. Art Republic put their Love rat up from ยฃ1980 to ยฃ3750 after Bonhams. That is quite a jump. For that price jump I'd have expected Banksy to have gone down and signed it!
