Dran Show โข Public Execution, London 2015, by thomess on Feb 21, 2015 14:16:41 GMT 1, The sunset piece is lovely and a great size too - unfortunately had about 30 seconds to browse the artwork as they were spinning you in and out 2 or 3 at a time and as soon as paid had you straight back out the door I would have thought that although the prints are all gone that the rest of the day will be a good craic and interesting to see if they sell / auction off any of the panels. Dran was there too but no time for sketches - but I did see some of the guys toward the back coming out with doodles - Maybe to make up for the disappointment of missing one / both of the prints Thankfully no tube obsessed knob in sight

I think this Dran thing was about doing things differently, not following the rules, creating some excitement...like the 2013 RAE Bodega show. So it brings a bit of the anarchy inherent in street art.
But "street art" to me is an odd term...some of the original street artists of Mexico were/are considered muralists. I think any of these current guys that get prior approval to do something big are modern day muralists or urban artists.

Prints aside though. I really lked the exhibition...although some of the pieces were pretty hit and miss. Thought the concept was good and didn't even mind queuing that first night for a slice of cheese.

Yeah agree with this. For me a lot of these exhibitions have become too much about the print release. Would of preferred him to not release one at all, like Phlegms exhibit. But if you're going to release something at the end of two weeks...make it amazing. This was a bit of a damp squib.

If yes or If not, why to be proud ?!! I am proud of my kids, of art, to have seen exhibitions, to pass my life laughing and enjoying a lot of concerts, to create, to have been living in the two towns where I wanted to live ( London-Paris - NY ? I could not, too expensive ) .. I would be proud to drink few beers with Johnny Rotten ( I was not - , but with John Lurie and some other musicians, singers, bands, artists,actors and actresses, gangsters etc..)... I am still proud to have seen the Kilingmanjaro ( in my dreams ) .. ad libidum...
To be proud about money ?! Talk to a man betting on horses : you can have zero euros , or 28k , then zero, or 3000, then zero again + zero etc.... = money is nothing.
Only air sticked on a bit of paper ( I saw one day a 200 euros banknote flying in the wind - I was proud then to catched it .. Easy , I gave it to hold to my kid behind my bike, and I offered him toys ).
ps : How to be proud when Ebay+Paypal take more than 10 % ?...
